Absolutely adore this sewing pouch. It's perfectly sized to take along anywhere, and professionally sewn, also shipped quickly. A delight to use, and thank you for the extras !!!!

About

Nestled snugly in a small, mossy seaside town is my studio and home of Kata Golda. Here I begin each day with a walk in the woods or in the garden.

One of the things I love about making a living from crafting is the joy and satisfaction I feel from making something just right. I am reminded every day just how important it is to pay attention to the little details. I will jot down a note to remind myself of a good word, draw a picture to keep a shape and eventually these parts take form in a project idea. When I pay attention and take note, my life is rich.

In 1999, inspired by the color and texture of hand-dyed wool felt, I started making toys for my baby girl. As she grew and began to draw I made her first sketchbook, decorated with a hand-stitched felt teddy bear and adorned with her name. It became the forerunner of the Kata Golda collection.

Kata Golda has grown into a flourishing business with the help of many skilled artisans living on the West Coast of the United States. Kata Golda strives to pay living wages and preserve handicrafts such as needlework, letterpress printing, hand-thrown pottery, hand-dyed textiles, felting and bookbinding. Special thanks goes to all of the people that help make Kata Golda possible: Kate Dean, Haley West, Anika Colvin, Amy Redmond, Frank White, Odette Jennings, Sorcha Ashling, Todd Stephens, Joan Wenske, Deb Oldham.

By using up every little scrap of material and reusing supplies as much as possible, Kata Golda strives to produce zero waste and have the lowest impact on the environment possible.

Thank you for your support and interest in our work.

THE STORY OF KATA GOLDA

In 1999, inspired by the color and texture of plant dyed wool felt, I started making toys for my baby girl. As she grew and began to draw I made her first sketch book, decorated with a hand-stitched felt teddy bear and adorned with her name. It was to become the forerunner of what is today the Kata Golda collection.

Kata Golda continues to be inspired by color and texture and by my daughter's drawings and sense of placement. Kata Golda has grown into a flourishing business and creative space while allowing me to stay true to what I love to do — create unique gifts for children and adults using a combination of wool felt, hand stitching, and letterpress printing.

My Etsy store launched October 2009 in conjuction with my new craft book, Kata Golda's Hand-stitched Felt. This store is my testing ground for new ideas and designs that may one day grow up to become part of my full collection, found at http://www.katagolda.com.

Thank you for your support and interest in my work.
