I love making new clothes to fit me that I won't see anywhere else. I've always loved altering store-bought items to suit my personal taste, and the problem now is that I make WAY too much for me to wear!
This shop is my way of trying to spread my unique vision of clothing to the rest of the world, or at least OUT of my closet!

All cardigans created in this shop are made by me from secondhand wool, cashmere, angora, and soon acrylic sweaters. My first FRANKENSWEATER was born of desire and frustration, because my younger sister owned a beautiful green cardigan with a shawl collar and elegantly elongated sleeves that I coveted with every fiber of my sweater-loving soul but alas, she would not give it to me, which is probably for the best because had my lasciviousness been sated I would never have delved into the creative possibilities that opened before me as I sought to recreate that perfect ideal.

I also wanted to mention that I have an eleven month old son, and a number of these sweaters were created while I was pregnant (or just after...), which is why I have listed some of them as MATERNITY wear. The location of the buttons and sometimes the vents I made in the backs allow for expansion and then drape nicely when you aren't so big. There are also the lovely and sexy FRANKENSKIRTS which I started making last winter while pregnant because I couldn't find anything to wear that suited my lifestyle (creative and outside) and kept me warm! These are made from wool sweaters and t-shirts and can be worn when NOT pregnant as well.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I accept paypal and checks at the moment. There is no tax on clothing sold in Minnesota, although I just heard yesterday that there is a movement to tax clothing in order to fund our public education, which is a FINE thing to me since I am a teacher and I believe our children and their education are not taken seriously enough by people and SHOULD be much better funded. I think class sizes should be LESS than 25 kids in a room~
anyway, if you want to talk more about that, feel free to convo me!
Shipping
I am working out more detailed shipping deals. On orders of three or more sweaters, I will cover shipping costs.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to love this FRANKENSWEATER as your OWN and wear it proudly, so if there is a problem, let me know and we will figure out how to fix it.
Additional policies and FAQs
I don't really do custom orders because I never know how a sweater is going to turn out. I can't promise you that it will look like some other sweater. What I CAN do is accept donations of gently used sweaters (even ones that are horribly shrunken!) and give you first dibs on whatever I create from it. That's about as fair as I can get- the creative process has no master~
