About kateberube

Sales 799
On Etsy since 2011

Kate Berube (Bear uh bee) is a children's book author and illustrator. Kate's books include: HANNAH AND SUGAR from Abrams books and THE SUMMER NICK TAUGHT HIS CATS TO READ from Simon and Schuster and MY LITTLE HALF MOON, forthcoming from Putnam/Penguin in 2017.

Kate grew up wanting to be an artist in a cow-filled Connecticut town. She earned her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Like so many artists, Kate’s career trajectory wasn't a straight line – she’s been a nanny, a tax preparer in Massachusetts, a scenic painter in NYC, a decorative painter in Chicago, and a bookseller in Portland.

Shop policies

Last updated on August 9, 2016
Welcome to my policy section. It's pretty basic - if you have a problem with a purchase or question about an item please message me (click on the "contact" link at the top right of this page) and I'll respond as quick as I can. I want you to love your purchase! I work hard to make my prints as high quality and beautiful as possible.

Accepted payment methods

Paypal Mastercard Visa American Express Discover Apple Pay Klarna Giftcard
Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I will certainly replace any item that is damaged or incorrect if the fault is my own. In case of any problems please message me and I will work with you.

I do accept returns within 30 days of payment. You will get the full amount back minus the shipping cost. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to me.
I accept credit cards, Etsy gift cards, and Paypal. Please contact me if you have any questions about other payment methods.

Nothing will be shipped until payment has been received.
I try my best to only charge you what the cost of the shipping plus packing materials cost me. (For example: one card ships in the US for $1 - I use two first class stamps for this - which cost me $.98)

I send everything through the USPS using First Class mail. I try to get it in the mail within 3 days of receiving payment for the order. Generally first class mail takes 1 to 5 days.

Card orders: There will be no tracking information for your package unless you specifically ask for it and pay extra for it. If you would like to purchase tracking please message me BEFORE you place your order and I'll set up a custom listing for you.

Print orders: All packages will have tracking info - you'll receive a tracking number for your package when it goes out.

If you want something to arrive faster - message me BEFORE you place your order and I'll set up a custom listing for you. Be sure to check your messages frequently if you ask me a question about expedited shipping - I will get back to you as soon as I can, but won't be able to set up your listing until you write back and agree to the shipping charges.

For US rush orders:
Priority mail is guaranteed in 3 days and will cost about $7.
Express mail is guaranteed in 2 days and will cost AT LEAST $20.
(Please note: both these options count the days after the day I get it in the mail.)

I am not responsible for any customs or fees you may incur on international orders.
Additional policies and FAQs

I am happy to write a short message in your card and mail it straight to your intended recipient. Please include a note with your order with exactly what you'd like written in the card.

I am also happy to write a short message on the front of the card. Just let me know what you'd like. (I will make it look as nice as I can but check out my cards with text on them to get a sense of what to expect my handwriting to look like.)

Drawing is much more time consuming than writing and I am unable to take on custom requests at this time.
