About

Contemporary tableware produced on the Isle of Man

Katy Mitchell is an Isle of Man based potter, producing functional tableware intended to be used and embraced in daily life. Her wheel-thrown forms are simple and contemporary, whilst the illustrations are delicate, colourful and inspired by the beauty (and oddity) of the Isle of Man.

After studying and working for five years in Australia, Katy returned home to the Isle of Man in 2013. She quickly re-established her studio practice, with the support of a small business start-up scheme and the local arts council. In 2016 Katy was selected to participate in the inaugural mentorship programme organised by the Craft Potters Association, in partnership with Adopt a Potter.

Her work is also available to purchase through selected Manx National Heritage shops, and the Manx Wildlife Trust Shop, as well as direct from her studio at seasonal events.
