Always keep it weird, everyone else is.

Keeping It Weird has always technically been around. Years ago I had a craft project that I needed some help with. I took the project to my Dad and down in the basement we went! There were so many tools that had so much potential. Once I started seeing how those tools worked, I became extremely interested. That year for Christmas I received one of the best gifts, ever. My Dad bought me a toolbox and a TON of tools. I used most of the tools to set up a little workshop.

I was looking in magazines and finding things that I liked and thought, "I can make that." And If I couldn't, I had enough handymen in my life that I could ask any of them for help. The crafts started off weird and I never really strayed. I moved on to the skateboards, bowling balls, birdhouses, you name it! I researched ways I could upcycle things. I made a few demos and saw how much people liked them. It was exciting. I sold a few things to an actual store, and word traveled. I make many things on the side that don't always end up in my ETSY shop because they just sell beforehand or I spend my time making custom projects for clients.
I have collected projects over the years that I either didn't finish or just lost interest in. I no longer lose interest. If I remember how painfully boring or awful the project was, I just simply turn it into something else.
I have a few creative friends and family member who make some amazing things, as well. When one of us gets stuck or has stared at the obvious for too long, we just send a text and a picture and the project takes on a new twist.
I love making unique pieces for people to enjoy and I hope you are one of them!

Shop policies

Welcome to Keeping It Weird! I am reviving my store due to all the things I have made during quarantine. Here at Keeping It Weird, while many of the items are freshly made, there are a few items that are on their 2nd life We are strong believers in keeping things alive. Many of the items that are for sale have been purchased in thrift shops, on clearance, donated, or found lying around and just needed some love. These things have been combined with some patience, love, and other misfit parts and brought back to life. There are some other things in this store that are just made from other materials that were purchased elsewhere and we try to keep those just as weird.
