About

About Kethi Copeland

Hi, I am Kethi Copeland. I design and make screen-printed work. I love paper and colour and the feel of ink on the page and make I my ink especially thick for that reason. I Screen-print my work by hand in my south London studio. However that is not the whole story: To make my designs I use a a broad range of mediums from drawing to paper-cutting or creating wearable costumes and being photographed in them. Fun and silliness are essential parts of my design practice.

I love using colour and humour, and noticing the extraordinary in everyday places - whether I'm drawing city architecture or dressing up as a Christmas tree or bunch of balloons. These characteristics run through the artwork I create: art prints, stationery, paper products such as hat-kits and Laser-cut jewellery, or running craft workshops with kids. I am involved in every stage of production from creating the original artwork by hand, to designing the packaging and working with paper suppliers and printers.

I regularly exhibit my work, I have an upcoming Open Studios 10 - 12 June 2016 at my studio at Cockpit Arts Deptford:
18 - 22 Creekside
London Se8 3DZ
Opening:
Friday 10th June 11am - 9pm
Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June 11am - 6pm
