We do our best to ship in a timely manner and appreciate your business.
Due to the pandemic, we are running on a very limited staff so please be aware that you could experience delays in shipment on your orders that exceed our current estimated shipping times. Please note the estimated shipping times are accurate and we are averaging 2-3 weeks for new orders to be shipped.
Additionally, USPS and International mail systems are experiencing significant delays due to the pandemic. Tracking information is showing trends of stopping for a week plus in one location before picking up again. Domestic customers should anticipate that, once shipped, orders could take upwards of three weeks to arrive and International customers should anticipate that, once shipped, orders could take upwards of eight weeks to arrive. We really appreciate you giving your order plenty of time to arrive.

About khallion
Karen Hallion
Karen grew up in a small waterfront town called Nahant, located north of Boston, Massachusetts. After seeing the Little Mermaid when she was 16, Karen came home, picked up a pencil, and drew her first Ariel. She spent the next few years drawing anything and everything, and went on to study at Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida.
Karen graduated with a BFA in Illustration and became a dedicated elementary school art teacher for many years, before deciding to follow her long held dream to work as a full-time artist. She created this Etsy shop alone in her home one day as a way to sell her mermaid series, listing items, filling orders, and growing her business all on her own. It has continued to expand to what you see today.

Returns and exchange details
Should you be dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us directly through Etsy with details and information regarding your purchase and issue.
Products that have been damaged during shipping will be replaced upon return of the damaged item(s). Karen Hallion Illustration will cover the costs of shipping returns for items damaged during shipping.
Refunds will be granted only for products that have been returned in original condition within 30 days of purchase.

Shipping
I am not responsible for items not delivered due to incorrect shipping information. We cannot change your address once an order has been placed. Please confirm you have the correct address prior to placing an order. For all orders shipped to an incorrect address or returned to us as undeliverable, failure to collect, or unclaimed, there will be a secondary shipping charge in order to reship. Additionally, refunds for returned items due to the above reasons will be processed less any shipping charges.
Your order may contain multiple packages; if you click on the shipping notification email you receive once your items have shipped, at the top it should indicate there are multiple packages (on the mobile version the packages are listed at the bottom of the page). You likely will have to manually enter the additional tracking numbers at the USPS website to get updates on those particular packages as for some reason, ETSY's system defaults to the primary package each time you click on the tracking numbers. ETSY marks all items as delivered despite there still being packages on the way, so please disregard this notice.

We cannot combine multiple orders.
For smaller items (notecards, stickers, magnets, buttons, art books) I do not use tracking numbers. Your order may be shipped in multiple packages with multiple tracking information. If something has not gotten to you within the shipping window outlined in your confirmation email, please send me a message.
If you need a rush order, I will try to do my best to accommodate you, just send me a message prior to placing an order to confirm that we are able to meet your needs.
Shipping outside the Continental U.S.A. is subject to additional shipping costs and local taxes/fees. Shipping is by first class mail. I am happy to refund shipping costs if I have over-charged. Contact me anytime to discuss shipping.

Additional policies and FAQs
A: The pandemic continues to affect mail delivery worldwide in unpredictable but lengthy delays. Unfortunately we do not have any additional information other than what is provided via ETSY and/or USPS for tracking information. For orders shipped via USPS, you will need to create a missing mail case and can contact us via ETSY messaging for instructions on how to do so. For international orders, you can use the Customs Number from your label to track at https://a1.asendiausa.com/tracking/. Please contact us via ETSY messaging with your order information and we can provide that for you.
Q: Do you do custom orders or commissions?
A: No, I am sorry, we do not do custom designed prints. Commissions are only available through Patreon, which you can find here; https://www.patreon.com/join/KarenHallion
Q: It seems like I am being charged for shipping for each item – can you combine it?
A: Etsy should automatically discount the postage in your cart upon checkout for multiple items. Sometimes, however, it does not calculate properly, in which case, we will absolutely refund you for any overages upon shipment of your order. Just contact us after your place your order if you believe you have been overcharged and we will look into it right away. We use USPS rates for our shipping so please refer to USPS.com for international rates. We are not responsible for local customs fees or taxes; please note that many international orders will require a customs fee and may be held at your local post office for payment in order to collect your package.
Q: I placed two separate orders; can you combine them?
A: I am sorry but we cannot combine separate orders.
Q: Can I get this in a different size? Do you make this as a Poster or a mug? Have you thought about magnets or bumper stickers or mousepads? Do you offer framing services or advice on frames?
A: We partner with the site Society6 [https://society6.com/karenhallion] which has alternative sizes and products, including framed work. If there is a design that we carry and you would like in a larger or smaller format than what we offer, we are sometimes able to do custom sizes. Please send us a message with your specific request and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Otherwise we only carry what you currently see available in our shop.
Q: Are your stickers water resistant?
A: Yes, they are water resistant but avoid placing them on items into the dishwasher (so hand wash only) and avoid harsh weather conditions (direct sunlight, rain, snow, etc. for maximum longevity.
Q: Why is shipping saying it can take 4-6 weeks? Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes, we ship internationally. We are a very small shop run out of our home and while we do our best to get orders out quickly, we want to be transparent about the length of time from production to shipment can take, especially during periods of high volume. We will always do our best to get orders out as soon as possible.
Q: Why did I get charged a customs fee and VAT and additional fee for shipping? / My package is being held by the mail service for fees; what does that mean?
A: We aren't responsible for local taxes and fees which can be quite expensive, and will be required to be paid in your country to receive delivery in some instances. Please read and research what fees you may be required to be paid prior to placing an order. Q: Why isn't my print signed?
A: If you would like your purchase signed or your art print signed on the front, or any inscription, please send a message with the details of what you would like.
Q: I have only received part of my order! Where is the rest?
A: We frequently need to ship orders in multiple packages due to the variety of sizes of different items. Oftentimes those packages show up 1-3 days within each other. Sometimes small items like stickers are sent in an envelope with a stamp, so there is no tracking information. Your shipping confirmation could show multiple tracking numbers at the bottom of your order details, although many people seem to have trouble finding this. If you click on the shipping notification email you got, at the top it should indicate there are two packages and you can click on the second tracking number (on the mobile version I believe the two packages are listed at the bottom of the page). ETSY will show in your account that your order is delivered even if there are secondary packages still en route! You may have to manually enter the second tracking number at the USPS website. If you believe your order has all arrived and is still missing items, please contact us.
Q: I need a rush order! Can you do that?
A: Please contact us prior to placing an order to see if we can accommodate your needs. Rush orders generally will require an additional shipping cost.
Q: I want to buy a bunch of your prints and cards and pins. Do you do discounts?
A: We frequently run sales and offer coupon codes. The best way to learn about our current discount offers is to sign up for our mailing list at www.karenhallion.com. Otherwise if an item is offered at a discount or bundled deal, it will be in our sale section or marked as such.
Q: This item says it is sold out! Will you have it back and when?
A: Most of our items will be restocked within a few weeks with the exception of pins, which can sometimes take 2-3 months. You can sign up at the sold out item’s listing to be notified of when an item comes back in stock (please note this feature doesn't work on mobile versions of this site!)

Q: Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Q: It says my package was delivered but I don’t have it! Can you do something?
A: First, verify you provided the correct shipping address. Sometimes the post office marks an item as delivered a day before it actually delivers it; however, you should contact your local post office immediately to inquire, ask your neighbors, and talk to your mail delivery person about it. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages, packages shipped to an incorrect address, or packages returned for failure to collect. Reshipment will incur additional shipping costs.

Q: What is Patreon?
A: Patreon is a crowdfunding platform that enables artists to obtain funding from their fans or patrons. Patrons pledge to donate a fixed amount of money to an artist every month in exchange for rewards. I have eight reward tiers; $1, $3, $5, $10, $15, $20, $25 and $35 and my rewards currently include downloadable coloring pages, tutorial videos, postcards and prints, depending on the level you choose. Each level builds upon the previous in terms of the rewards you receive. For example, if you choose the $10 reward, you'll have access to all the rewards below it at the $1, $3, $5 levels as well. You can cancel your pledge or change your pledge amount at any point and will take effect the first of the following month.
