Tiny Daydream Capsules

So many voices tell us to work hard, cut the fat and focus. Maybe it's true, but I stand for the little voice that tells you to take a nap, stare at the clouds and think about your favorite things. I'm not that good at my own advice, which is why I have to say it out loud. And in paint.
I get to make mini escapes. The place you want to go instead of where you are. The capsule of fresh air that can be worn around your neck and taken wherever you go, or even given to someone who needs it more than you. Nostalgic landscapes, spirit animals, inside jokes: this is the good stuff that reminds you why you are you, and nobody else.

See my process and how it all works in this sweet little video: http://vimeo.com/109888849
(copy + paste in a new window and it'll pop right up)

For fifteen years I've been mucking about with paint, usually on great big walls and windows. Miniatures crept in so sneakily, an experimentation at most. I began in NYC where I was working as a sign and mural painter. As I moved, miniatures moved with me, all the way down the east coast on a 29' sailboat, then across the country to where I now live in Washington state.

You really never know what's going to come around the next corner, do you??

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I make a limited amount of custom orders. Custom pieces require more time for discussion of the design via convo, painting, and conclusion, and are therefore more expensive than ready-made items listed in my shop. Custom orders are sometimes wait-listed, and take 1-2 weeks to create once begun.

Care instructions

I use indoor/outdoor oil enamel paint which is an extremely durable material. A locket has made it through the washing machine unscathed! However, the locket will last longer the more it is handled with care. Sometimes constant contact with heat can cause the metal to expand and lose it's bond with the enamel. Please avoid wearing the lockets in the shower or inside your shirt during regular intense exercise to extend the life of the piece. After all, it's a mini piece of art, and art usually hangs on a wall! Treat it as you would a painting.

Repair

About once a year there is an inquiry for repair to a locket. I stand by the quality of my pieces and am very willing to arrange a touch up of paint, or the replacement of a piece if it is faulty. This stands for up to one year from the purchase of the piece. If the locket has been clearly handled roughly beyond reasonable doubt, which has happened twice, I do not claim responsibility, nor will I replace the item. Thank you for understanding.
