So surprised to receive my package today! It arrived so quickly and I was delighted to open it up and find an extra beautiful gift inside! The little dress is so well made... I purchased it for my niece who is expecting this June. I only want the best gifts for my family members, and this one was it! The shop owner was a pleasure to deal with, and I enjoyed communicating with her. What a treasure! I will purchase again!

My little niece looks beautiful in this lovely set! The wool is super soft against her skin and she loves the fact there are no thumbs! An absolutely beautiful set that made for a beautiful gift. Thank you!
It's in the name!
Kidsknits was born from my love of knitting! An old passion which got lost along the road of life but which was rekindled with the births of my beautiful grandchildren!
I learnt to knit and crochet from an early age (around 8 or 9 years old) as it was a skill that was taught to young girls in those days. My early projects were always "winter scarf's" but as time went on (and I got more adventurous) I tackled my first real knitting pattern around 14 years old - disaster!!!!! The result was a child's cardigan which had one sleeve longer than the other (it was quickly assigned to my teddy bear to wear and no one would ever see it)!
In the years proceeding that disastrous event, I improved upon my pattern reading - this saw me producing jumpers and cardigans that I was very proud of!! I then started knitting for friends and family. When my own children arrived, I knitted for them out of necessity plus the fact that wool was a cheaper alternative to shop brought items (and they also lasted a lot longer).
Being told you were to become a "Grandma" for the first time, brought back memories of my own children and some of the wonderful cardigans and jumpers I had made for them. It was then that I decided to rekindle my passion and started knitting again - first for my grandchildren and then I was encouraged by my children to start selling some of my items. Hence the idea of kidsknits was born!
So here at Kidsknits, my aim is to provide quality hand-knitted items that are not mass produced, affordable and with care, will last the test of time :))
