My review is late, but it’s glowing, nonetheless. 😍 I bought this print for my niece in celebration of their menarche! They were so surprised and pleased, and straight away hung it on their bedroom wall. Here’s their photo, but since they’re a minor, I had to smack an emoji on their face. I find inspiration in the ever changing beauty of California, folk art, and my love of color.

I taught art for many years, always painting on the side while raising my kids. Writing and illustrating children's books was a dream. My first picture book, Chinese and English Nursery Rhymes: Stories and Songs to Share (Tuttle Pub) debuted in 2010, and was rereleased in spring of 2018. Later I earned an MA in Art Education, my thesis a series of picture book biographies about women artists.
My painting and printmaking keeps going and growing. I keep doing more, new ideas sprouting every day. Many of my paintings are done with gouache resist, I like the heavy black outline, and infinite surprises that happen in the process.
