Was quite taken aback by the very small size of this. Guess I missed it in the description.

Thank you so much for the feedback!! I am sorry you were surprised by the size. The majority of my shop is based on little paintings that are small in scale, I will be sure to make the description & dimensions on the listings more prominent. I appreciate your honest reaction ♥

About

Kim Bade's Artful this & that

I absolutely love Etsy. I have always done art in some form for as long as i can remember, and Etsy has been a wonderful outlet. I still feel amazed every time some one would want to purchase, display, gift, or 'favorite' anything that i have created. Art to me is very personal, it is an expression of my mood, thoughts, heart, and a snapshot of the moment that i am in. So to me it's an emotional thing.

I have sold lots of miscellaneous artful things at craft fairs, in misc. consignment shops, and here & there, but Etsy has truly been just what i needed... a casual pace that follows along with where my life is at each turn.

We are newly empty-nesters. (not my favorite thing - but i'll be fine :) Life has changed a lot, but thankfully I have a full time, very busy Graphic Arts job in the Beer/Beverage industry. I truly love my job and have been working for the same family owned business for almost 20 years now. I also do photography jobs for people here & there, but photography 'just for fun' is my favorite.

All of my interests and hobbies revolve around 'creating'. It's who i am, its what i do... i love my life. God is great.

I find watercolor originals charming in their imperfections, It is apparent & one of their unique qualities to never be 100% flat or smooth by nature of the method of water to paper. I do, however, make every effort to have your original watercolor shipped to you as flat as possible, but here is a helpful hint you may want to try before framing if your painting buckles:

http://home.netcom.com/~andrewsl/edk/flattening_watercolor.html

Flattening a Watercolor
by Elizabeth Kincaid
For mounting or photographing a painting, it helps a lot if the painting is flat. But all the water used in painting a watercolor can leave the painting buckled. Here's how to flatten it.

1. You will need blotter boards, paper towels (Viva is the softest).
2. Put a layer of towels over the boards.
3. Carefully wet (thoroughly) the BACK of the watercolor, up to about 1/4 inch from the edge.
4. Lay the painting face down on the blotter board (covered with paper towels).
5. Put paper towels over the back of the wet painting.
6. Put a layer of blotter boards on top of those paper towels.
7. Cover with lots of books or bricks, about 6 inches deep.
8. Release in about 12 hours and replace all the paper towels and blotter boards with dry ones, and let dry another 12 hours under weights.
