Love the patch - it took a little longer than expected to arrive but was well worth the wait!

The Kimberlin Silver Co. Story

The origins of the spoon ring are unknown, though many claim they originated in England during the 17th century and were used as alternative wedding bands.

Popular opinion further explains that servants who could not afford precious metals resorted to stealing silverware from their employers and crafted them into wedding rings. Those caught were prosecuted for theft, which is why spoon rings are known to have been used during this time.

In recent years, the concept of spoon rings have grown with increasing popularity. These antique heirlooms carry a level of personal sentiment, while promoting a rich sense of history.

It was the summer of 2010 and my sister was getting married to the man of her dreams. During the final weeks of preparation leading up to the wedding, I found both of my sisters looking at spoon rings online ― rings formed by bending antique silver spoon handles. I saw an opportunity to attempt the craft and make a set of spoon rings for them.

In a matter of days I had collected a handful of silver spoons and created a makeshift workshop. After quite a few failed attempts at properly bending the handles into comfortable rings I had a few that I was proud of, and my sisters were overjoyed with the end result. I enjoyed making those rings so much that I decided to commit myself to the idea and see where it could go. A few short weeks later, Kimberlin Silver Co. was created.

There is a special beauty in repurposing that can’t be found anywhere else. My hope is that by visiting this site you will be inspired to create something new from materials that might never have a second chance to be loved. Each of the spoon rings I craft are one-of-a-kind pieces that will last for generations to come.
