Announcement   STAY TUNED FOR UDATE - EARLY DECEMBER 2017 :)

I collect and work with beads! I am addicted in particular to the tribal style. Here you will find some of my recent works. Both strung and beaded with tiny seed beads. In my search for tribal beads and such, I am often lucky enough to find the occasional piece tribal jewellery to buy. You may find some of those here from time to time. These pieces are getting harder and harder to find and I appreciate being being their caretaker, even for a short time. They are a part of history and that in itself is exciting. Imagine the stories the beads could tell as they have travelled across continents, from Europe to Africa to North America, or even further journeys. Please enjoy, stay awhile and feel free to chat or ask questions! Kim :)

About

I create because I ‘have to’.

I create because I ‘have to’. It is as necessary as breathing. Over the years my chosen medium has consistently been jewellery. I have transformed polymer clay, silver and beads of every description and age, into wearable art. I have macramed, silversmithed, woven and strung to accomplish this.

I grew up ‘creative’ and the desire still burns. Currently my work is composed of antique, vintage or unusual elements. Antique silver from Afghanistan or Morocco mixed with trade beads from Venice, semi precious stones or Asian carved bone, to name only a few. My work spans ages and continents, bringing these pieces together to form beautiful pieces of body adornment.

Occasionally I switch gears from the big beads and pull out my seed beads. Here I meticulously pick through my containers of these tiny orbs, and one by one, weave together bright, graphic, one of kind wearable art.

All in all I create because I have to. It is a passion that that wont be quelled and keeps me thinking, focused and happy.
