About

A shop full of hand thrown porcelain goodness

I graduated with a BFA from the University of Connecticut and soon began a career in graphic design. After a few years of working in my field, I realized that my need to create could not be fulfilled by sitting in front of a computer. A friend suggested that I take a pottery class and after a little convincing, I agreed.

It only took one class to get me hooked. I started having dreams about throwing and not long after, I left the graphic design world and devoted all of my time and attention to ceramics. Initially, that meant washing the studio floor at Creative Arts Workshop in exchange for extra studio time. The following year, I moved to Brooklyn where I worked for and alongside several well established potters and ceramic artists. In May 2004, I set up my own studio and began designing and producing a body of work.

Working exclusively in porcelain, all of my vessels begin on the wheel. My work is defined by my modern aesthetic and I am most interested in creating a strong form through balance and proportion. I find inspiration in the gentle curves of the human body and nature as well as the clean lines of modern industrial design. Each have led me to experiment with the alteration and reconstruction of traditional shapes. By manipulating these shapes, I am able to create new forms which enhance the design and often times, the function of a piece.

I strive to create well crafted, heirloom quality pieces and it is important to me that my vessels are used and enjoyed. I believe that people should surround themselves with their own unique collections of things that they love. I make each piece with that in mind and hope that my vessels will add beauty and visual interest to their new home and engage those around them.

I am currently working out of my studio in the beautiful Bronx in New York city.

Thanks for visiting my shop! All of my pieces are made from porcelain and produced in my Sarasota, Florida studio. All of my functional ware (cups, bowls, mugs, serving pieces) are food safe and I only use lead and cadmium free glazes. Pieces are made one at a time, by hand without any molds or casts. This ensures that you will be getting a truly unique, heirloom quality piece.

Payment
I'm currently accepting credit card payments through PayPal and Etsy direct checkout.

To avoid any confusion, please be sure that the ship to address on the PayPal receipt matches the ship to address on the Etsy receipt and please be sure that the provided address is correct or contact me if there is an error. Items returned to me due to an incorrect provided address will require repayment of the shipping costs in order to have them re-sent.

Items shipped to a Florida address will be subject to sales tax.
Shipping
I double wrap all of my pieces in bubble wrap and make every effort to ensure that your piece arrives safely. U.S. addresses ship via priority mail, parcel post or UPS ground within 1-3 business days after payment is received (except for pendants, ornaments and magnets which ship first class).

Insurance and tracking is included when Priority Mail is the chosen shipping option. First Class Mail and Parcel Select Ground services do not include insurance. If you would like to add extra services, please convo me before checkout. I am not responsible for breakage, theft or loss during shipping. Shipping charges include a handling fee.

If for any reason a package is returned to me by the post office (because the buyer provides incorrect shipping info, if a package goes unclaimed, etc.) the buyer will be responsible for additional shipping costs to have the package reshipped. Refunds/returns will not be given on any returned packages.

International Shipping Procedures:
In an effort to keep international shipping costs affordable, I am now shipping smaller items via first class international. This does not include insurance or tracking. Each can be added for an additional fee. I cannot be responsible for breakage, theft or loss during shipping. Please convo me before completing the PayPal transaction if you would like a different shipping method.

Buyers are responsible for any import taxes or tariffs on international purchases.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do my best to accurately describe and photograph my listed items. Please read the descriptions carefully. A return request must be made within 5 days of receiving an item and the item must arrive in the same condition in which it was sent or it will not be accepted. Returned items must be shipped within 5 days of the return request. Please contact me with any tracking info so I will know when to expect it. The cost of the item minus shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee will be refunded to the purchasers PayPal account within 7 days of receiving the item. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

Sale items, seconds, samples and special orders are non-refundable.

Please repack your item carefully for shipping. I strongly advise purchasing insurance and tracking. If an item arrives back damaged due to insufficient packaging or if a package is lost, a refund will not be given.

If for any reason a package is returned to me by the post office (because the buyer provides incorrect shipping info, if a package goes unclaimed, etc.) the buyer will be responsible for additional shipping costs to have the package reshipped. Refunds/returns will not be given on any returned packages.
