5 out of 5 starsLovely wool, exactly as described. This was my first time processing raw wool, but will not be my last! Maybe I'll just keep an eye out for when Minerva gets her next haircut, because I love the color and texture of her wool!

5 out of 5 starsIf I could give 6/5 stars, I would! The seller was quick to respond to my questions and even sent pictures! The wool has been THOROUGHLY skirted, leaving only the best fiber and it’s even packaged in a way that leaves all the fibers running parallel. This seller takes great care in what she provides. This fleece is a beautiful combination of breeds - the crimp and springiness of merino, the length and strength of Romney, and the floof and gorgeous lavender grey of Jacob. The color is surprisingly uniform throughout and it would be gorgeous undyed or provide some fantastic depth if dyed.

The wool has been THOROUGHLY skirted, leaving only the best fiber and it’s even packaged in a way that leaves all the fibers running parallel. This seller takes great care in what she provides. The wool itself is fairly free of debris and has all the best qualities of the breeds - it’s got poof, crimp, bounce, and comes in a gorgeous lavender grey. I’ll definitely be back, once I spin through this glorious fleece

5 out of 5 starsSiggi's fleece is such a delight, it has all the beautiful color variation of a Jacob fleece, with added strength and softness. I can't wait to play around with how the colors blend, they're just gorgeous. It also has a really satisfying smooshy density and crimp to it that makes it feel like anything you make out of it will be incredibly warm and study. I so look forward to playing with this fiber, and I love being able to know about the different members of the flock and add that story into whatever I create.

5 out of 5 starsI can't recommend Kind Fibers enough to any fellow fiber enthusiast and lover of animals. It makes a huge difference to buy wool from a fellow fiber artist who knows what they're doing, especially one who cares as much as Moriah does. This wool was skirted and packed with the utmost care, each lock intact and aligned, which makes cleaning and picking so much easier and more pleasurable. Sade's wool is just gorgeous, I've never seen anything quite like it. It's both soft and strong, with a lovely crimp and color. And to get to work with a fleece that you know comes from a creature that is so loved and well taken care of is really special.

To some this is just another creek. However, this is the only way off and on the farm by foot, oxen, or kayak.

Meet Night, the newest rescue. She was sent to slaughter for a prolapse. Now she's home growing beautiful wool.

Owner, Creator
Many of my ancestors came to this country in the 1600s and settled into farming and rearing livestock. The rest were already here. There's something about that heritage that tugs your heart towards the land and her creatures. I love nature.

I cannot make mugs. I don't have that skill, but thankfully I have found a company to manufacture our mugs using my original photos of our Sanctuary Residents and my original designs. Our partner ships directly to you to avoid delays.

Frequently asked questions
Do we sell sheep?
We do not sell our sheep. We do occasionally rehome a rescue that does not fit into our flock or if our flock is at full capacity. We make every effort to ensure they are end up in a no kill facility. Our ewes are not bred since their "job" is growing wool, keeping the lawns trimmed, and making compost.
Are all your sheep wool sheep?
No. My very first ewe, Lambi, was a hair sheep. She loved to follow us around, and would even get in the creek with us. She died in my arms February 15, 2017 after a long battle with kidney disease. I have her son who is half wool sheep. His name is Brock, and he is very sweet. Her granddaughters Loral, Siggy, Lilac, and Minerva, and her other grandson Orion live on the farm as well. Loral and Brock both have worthless fleeces, but are two of the favorites
Why rescue sheep? Why not slaughter?
Sheep are amazing, intelligent, curious, strong willed animals that live in a complex social and familial society. While we do not believe that an animal's life is equal to human life, we do believe that kindness to other other species, particularly those that are products of human intervention, is a moral imperative. Many sheep are slaughtered annually because they are no longer "breeders". Often these "defects" are the results of poor management on the part of their shepherds. We see no reason to condemn an animal because of prolapse, treatable disease, or age. Every single rescue sheep we have earns its keep in some way, and contributes to our farm's overall success.
Custom and personalized orders
We are not engaging in custom design at this time. However, we can arrange large orders for our regular products.
Care instructions
New customers are sent detailed washing instructions for raw wool. Shawls are also sent with washing instructions. Moriah does try to send hand written notes about processing THAT FLEECE with each wool purchase.
If you have ANY wool processing questions, please ask. Linda can answer many basic questions. If it's more detailed, Moriah will answer.
