Hi, thanks so much for visiting my shop! I'd love to give you a background of how I got started.

I've always considered myself a creative person. I first started drawing when I was very young and always loved art classes in school. At that same time, I was learning how to crochet, knit and sew from my mom and really enjoyed crafts. I took every art and photography class I could get my hands on in high school so when I graduated I knew I wanted to get an art degree. In college I was intrigued by architecture and graphic design and ended up getting a degree in art with a concentration in graphic design. While in college, I worked in a fabric shop and loved making my own clothes. After college I worked in the graphic design field for about 15 years all while secretly envying the amazing handmade shops on Etsy that I was buying from. I've always loved accessories and with my love of sewing and textiles I dreamed of opening a handmade bag shop. After being laid off from my job I knew it was time to make my dream a reality. I slowly started researching fabrics and designs and made my first bag for my shop (which was scary but also exciting). Today I use fabrics that I personally love which include Bohemian, Southwest and Mexican designs. Over the years, I've added jewelry and home accessories as well. In the last couple of years I started doing wholesale orders and have had my bags in a few different shops as well as a monthly handmade subscription box.

I know my customers are choosing to spend their hard earned money in my shop so I do my best to make sure my products are well made and loved.

Outside of making accessories and running a small business I love hiking and the outdoors, music, food and birds, which is how the name Kindred Feather came about.
