KiniArt™ - Contemporary PUP Artist, Kim Niles

It was over ten years ago that an illness in the family forced my attention away from experimenting with larger "serious" paintings on canvas and led me to focus instead on a smaller scale activity I had mindlessly done all my life... doodling.

A working Artist since the late 1990s, I sold my 2D and 3D paintings online, but in early 2004, thanks to a sudden loss of studio space & space for supplies, I started to doodle silly little dog breed caricatures on tiny scraps of paper with India ink pens and color pencils - and KiniArt was born.

It was those early dog breed doodles that caught the attention of a children's book Publisher and I Illustrated my first children's book, (Westie The Dog) in 2005. I decided to write the story for my next book (Muggles' New Home), about a westie terrier puppy searching for his forever home, and that was published in 2010. I'm currently working on my next book project, as well as fabric designs, apparel , home decor, & other product projects. I have a large portfolio of work under the KiniArt label and I am always seeking new KiniArt Licensees.

Kawaii is an adjective in Japanese meaning " pretty; cute; lovely; charming; dear; darling; pet" ... KiniArt™ is my own unique animal-obsessed interpretation of Kawaii & the world around me. I was lucky enough to grow up completely surrounded by a hysterically sarcastic family with a wickedly wacky sense of humor. That humor is sometimes seen in my art titles, which are often inspiration for the artworks themselves.

Music is as valuable a tool in the studio as my art supplies. It keeps the hyper-critical side of my brain from interfering with the whimsy and humor. Sometimes a peanut butter and pickle sandwich is also highly valued in the studio - a doorway of sorts to childhood silliness.

Life is good. I'm fortunate enough to live on Whidbey Island in WA state and I love my job, whether I'm drawing my silly version of an adorable dog breed, designing fabric, apparel, or gift items, or shipping a newly purchased KiniArt puppy to it's new home.

My art is recognized worldwide. It's lighthearted and happy - all the best parts of me, my childhood and my family. My biggest thrill as an Artist is knowing that through my art, my 5-year-old animal-loving inner child has connected with yours.

As you can see by my 100% positive feedback rating, customer satisfaction is my top priority. In my shop you'll find whimsical animal art originals, art prints, other art gifts , and signed copies of my children's books.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Detailed description and photos provided in item listings to ensure satisfaction.
Exchanges are not available for custom or personalized ordered items.
Shipping costs are never included in exchange or store credit amount.
Returned items must be packaged with the same extreme care as was provided when they left my hands.
Payment
Accepted:
Paypal, Credit cards, Debit cards and Etsy gift cards. Also accepts personal check and money order payments for the exact amount (Payments made for more than the amount due will not be accepted).

Payment is due at the time of purchase.
WA state residents will be charged WA state sales tax.
Shipping
Please make sure your mailing and email addresses are current and the same in both Etsy and PayPal.

Shipping Schedule:
For ultimate productivity in the studio, I typically ship FRIDAYS & the occasional MONDAY. For custom Pet Portraits, your order is placed on the next available slot on my commissioned art schedule (usually at least 2 months away from the order date. Etsy's system automatically sets the "ship by" date - This date WILL NOT APPLY to custom art orders.

Methods:
KiniArt is typically shipped via USPS First Class or Priority mail, but you're free to choose expedited shipping methods on listings that include the automated calculate shipping profile (calculated by Etsy)
Insurance is additional.

Customs:
Buyers are responsible for any/all customs fees imposed by their country. As KiniArt™ is a registered US company, I cannot mark your purchase as a "gift" on customs forms.

Gift Addresses:
For security purposes, purchases will be shipped to the confirmed address associated with your chosen payment method unless you are already an established KiniArt collector. Different mailing addresses provided privately *after* you've already checked out will not be used.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I accept orders for custom portraits from your photos, as well as general custom-requested dog breeds or breed-mix drawings. . (Returns are not available on custom pet portraits because of their personalized nature)

Do you sell or include digital downloadable files of your art?

No. While I do license my art to companies for use on their products through a legal Art Licensing contract. I do not sell or offer digital downloadable files of my artworks to the general public for DIY or crafts for sale.
