Announcement   January 2016 - After a long hiatus, I am happy to announce the reopening of my shop! Right now it's going to mostly be small originals, as I have a lot of original art that needs rehoming, but there will be a few prints available as well. Please contact me directly to commission a piece.

I am an artist, costumer, and designer from Atlanta specializing in whimsical, historical, and Jane Austen inspired original paintings and prints. I also do custom art and portraits (specializing in engagement/wedding portraits), and would be happy to create something special for you.

My work has been featured in:
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Decor8
Design for Mankind
Heart Handmade
Etsy Storque
Etsy Stalker
Odi Et Amo
Beyond the Pale
Set piece for the Cher film, "Burlesque".

About

historical folk artist and whimsical portrait painter

Lunar Rose Designs is the all-encompassing world of artist and costume designer Sarah K. Schambach. A two-time graduate of the University of St Andrews, Scotland, I studied Art History and Museum Studies, both with special emphasis in the study of historical fashion.
I am a life-long self-taught artist and costumer, and my background has helped to shape my work. My art is best described as cottage style, though it has also been described as folk art. My primary inspirations come from history, literature, and costuming, though I have also been known to dabble in everything from fan art to fine art. My signature style features portraits of historical ladies in bright dresses set against neutral backdrops.
I've been selling my artwork here on etsy since 2007, and I also sell my yoga and dancewear designs at http://lunarrosedesigns.etsy.com

Please direct any and all inquiries to my etsy inbox or to info [!at] lunar-rose.com. Thank you!

All work is copyright by me. Original artworks may not be reproduced by anyone but me without my permission. Purchase of original art does not transfer copyright. I keep images of all of my original works on file and still retain the right to reproduce any of my works via print or any other means unless otherwise stated in the listing. (i.e. I make an exclusive original that will never be made into prints.)

Please note that original works in the shop are the only ones available via Etsy at this moment. Unfortunately, if the original of something is not listed, it is not for sale at this time. Sorry!

Fine art prints are made on high quality, long-lasting matte Kodak Endura photo paper. All of my prints come with a small 1/4 inch white border around them to aid framers. As is typical for reproducing acrylic/oil on canvas paintings, my works are photographed, not scanned, in order to best convey the texture and natural colour variations in the art work. Print colours are true to the original art work.
I do not offer printable downloads of my work, sorry.

Shipping
Please note in the "Message to Seller" section if you would like your shipped to an address other than the one associated with your account. PLEASE double check your address to make sure it is correct before placing an order.

I am happy to ship internationally, though please be aware that, as the buyer, you are responsible for any international customs charges that may incur.

With the exception of holidays, I try to ship within 48 hours/2 business days of payment. Orders placed after 12pm Friday will ship the following Monday.

Original art will be insured via USPS within the US. Prints are not insured but will be replaced if they are lost or damaged. Unfortunately international orders cannot be insured unless you request me to send it International Priority shipping, which will cost you significantly more.

I accept returns within two weeks of receipt, shipping paid by you. Refunds will be issued once the item is received by me. Please note that shipping fees cannot be refunded.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please contact me about custom orders. I won't reproduce one of my own paintings, but if there is something you see in my shop and want something similar, let me know.
