About

Evrything but the kitchen sink... Antique and collectible items from the past

My favorite part of Kitchen Sink Antiques is finding a treasure someone has overlooked. I started collecting North Carolina pottery in the 90s and found other treasures along the way. So I started sharing my finds so I could enhance my collection. I also developed a love for mid-century modern and discovered a whole world of wonderful things out there.. I didn't always know the history or the story for my finds, so I started doing research. I probably have more books on antiques and collectibles than antiques. I love that aha moment when I identify a piece of silver from its mark or find a special piece of costume jewelry.

I love dishes and could eat off a different set every night. In order to contain the dish flood I decided to have only two dinner plates from some of my favorite patterns and complete sets of only a few. Naturally this has resulted in my having extra goodies to sell in my Etsy shop.

I recently retired so I have more time to spend on my "hobby". I really enjoy the photography and spend a lot of time trying to capture the essence of an item in only five pictures. The light changes during the seasons and through the day, so I try to find the perfect time and spot to get a picture in natural light. I like to use photo editing software to remove the reflections from my red ( yes, red) camera from reflective glass or silver.

Kitchen Sink is both my hobby and my passion. Maybe I'll see you at a thrift store or a yard sale sometime. I meet the nicest people in my pursuit of cool collectibles. My daughter in law and five year old granddaughter are my favorite yard sale and thrift store companions.

So as long as it's fun and I can pack and ship, kitchen Sink Antiques will keep sharing treasures with you.

The items I sell are usually pre-owned or vintage. I do my best to describe any flaws, but keep in mind they are used and not in new condition.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
I accept PayPal. Local purchases can be by cash or money order.
Shipping
I will ship usually within 3 working days of receipt of payment.    I use both FedEx and the post office depending on destination and weight of package.   I would be happy to combine purchases for shipping savings based on weight and zip.  Shipping costs will need to be recalculated if you are not in the lower 48 US states. If that’s the case I'll send you a new total. I will ship international, but will need to know the destination to calculate charges. International shipping is through the post office only.
Refunds and Exchanges
Positive feedback lets me know you received your order and are pleased with what you purchased.  If there is ever a problem, please notify me within three days of receipt and give me the opportunity to correct the problem before leaving feedback. If you are not happy with an item you can return at your cost for shipping within two weeks of purchase. If I have not described an item accurately or missed a flaw, I will cover the return costs or negotiate a fair adjustment with you.
Additional policies and FAQs
I pack with quality packing supplies to ensure safe arrival of your items. They are insured so please document any damage to boxes or items as you open them. I have had a total of five claims of damage in over 5000 shipments, so it is not likely to happen. But we'll work it out if it does.
