Kitty: handmade at home

We make Kitty from our home in Goolwa, a seaside town just south of Adelaide in South Australia. We love working together, designing and making, and we're proud to be able to produce something good that puts so many smiles on the faces of our customers.

American Secretary of State Hilary Clinton said, 'Adelaide is one of the great, critical industrial centers in the world', and Team Kitty likes to think, if somewhat tongue in cheek, that Hilary means us, faffing about on our two industrial Pfaff sewing machines! Hey, it's great that something still gets made in Australia!

We make pretty purses (and wallets and sleeves and journals and more) and pretty is critically important, if it puts a smile on your face.

And we love good design, which means we design for functionality and durability too.

Most important is that each item is unique. That's the joy of being truly handmade - no two fabric items are ever identical, yours is 'yours' to express yourself with and to enjoy!

And yes, 'caveat emptor' (buyer beware): you're going to get lots of comments on your Kitty purchase from admiring folks ;)

Team Kitty: fabric, fur and purrs!

Farley's 'femme fatale' and the muse of Kitty Came Home design. Able to sew and iron straight lines like a CERN physicist, Katrina has a passion for her vintage fabrics, making and a tasty bit of baking.

You'd have no pretty purses if I didn't get Katrina and Farley out of bed at 5am! You're welcome. And then they wouldn't stop at night if I didn't jump up and sit on them to be patted. They're well behaved staff but it would be chaos without me!

  • Farley Wright

    Owner, Maker, Designer, Words

Katrina's partner in purses, productivity and the pursuit of purring prettiness. A practical lad, I help make the purses, do the books, make the market stalls, muck out the stables, etc., as well as helping work out the trickeries of design.
