Japanese silk flowers for everyday.

My tsumami floral accessories journey all began around 2008 when I saw them for the first time on a kimono forum. It was love at first sight!

Something about those delicate little flowers that I saw made me want to learn more about them.

How were they made? What were they made from? What materials do I use?

All these questions drove me to research online and when I discovered they use the technique called tsumami, I made it my goal to learn the skill and began to make tsumami kanzashi.

However, this was only the beginning as this led me to experiment the best way to use the tsumami technique for the modern life that I led. Which is where my miniature tsumami accessories began to take shape. I wanted to have a piece of tsumami flower to take with me when I went to work so I adapted the method and used it to decorate brooches, pendants, etc.

I have to say it has been very fun and I can safely say the tsumami technique is the most wonderful skill that I have the pleasure to learn.

Hi there,

Welcome to my little world of silk flowers.

Endlessly frustrated that I could not wear tsumami zaiku hair accessories for so many of my functions as I didn't have the time to fix my hair, I thought how can I enjoy my silk flowers without the hassle.

Then it dawned on me!

Earrings!

So after a lot of experimentation with different silks and adhesives, I finally came up with my unique method where you can enjoy the delicate nature of tsumami zaiku flowers wherever you go.

Whether you are looking for a statement piece that will shine on its own or a subtle one that will coordinate with your outfit, I am sure you will find a flower that will suit you.

Happy shopping!
