Announcement   Welcome to Kiwi Studios! Each piece is cut by hand cleaned and placed in a kiln where it is fired at temperatures up to 1500 degrees and sometimes more than once. Chunky glass rings, belts, pendants, platters and wall pieces usually in a modern or contemporary style is what I made and showed at the NY Gift Show for several years. Now I am moving onto larger and kiln casted pieces.
I have partnered with a ceramics artist and together we are creating these "art windows" with a look into the lagoon and all it holds with plants, cells, decay, creatures and more... These are lit with LED's and will look like two pieces of art as they transition from day into night. Once installed we will be happy to share and maybe create some to sell to anyone who might be interested?!
In the meantime pickings are slim but happy to share my knowledge of glass and how it all works.
That leaves me with a ton of glass and accessories that I no longer use! So my loss is your gain and if you are looking for a color or frit in 90 or 96 I may have it so please ask! Thanks for visiting and you can always check out Kiwi Studios on Facebook or Kiwistudioschris on Instagram for my current work!

My favorite color is orange and these earrings are beautiful and well made. My 13 year old daughter even said,"wow!"

I got this to give as a gift but I kind of want to keep it for myself! Great customer service!

About

Color, color and more color

In 2002 I fell in love with all the color and purity of glass and the minute I saw the kiln and kiln formed glass and hot glass which shortly became an addiction.
I then bought a 28" kiln (yes, without research or thinking it through!) had it delivered to our garage, my poor husband was quite surprised! The obsession with glass began...
I created my own line of jewelry and housewares and sold them at the New York Gift Show for several years. My influences are and always have been all things vintage with special interest in the 60's and 70's style of home decor, glass, clothing, jewelry. I even wore my great grandmothers green cashmere dress for my senior photo in High School... Not the most popular of kids!
These days I am more focused on large sculptural work and creating "one offs" but still have the passion to create everyday!

Hello! Started my business in 2002... Got my own kiln and started making more stuff than I could keep in my little shop. I feel a true peace and joy when I walk through my studio door. I love glass and all the versatility it brings, so many things you can do with it! Glass is over 6000 years old and continues to grow and become more interesting with each artist that enters the field and contributes to it. Love the color and feel, cold yet warm and vibrant at the same time!
Thanks for the support of me and Kiwi Studios!
