Doing some quality control testing while camping. The socks were meant for my daughter, but Trouble #2 claimed them!

Did you know socks can be born 2-at-a-time?
Slow Fashion and Quality Yarns = Unique, timeless pieces for you
Hey there! I’m Sarah: a knitter, mom, coffee and wine addict, and nature lover. When I’m not curled up knitting or reading with a cup of black coffee, you’ll often find me walking in the woods near my small town in British Columbia, Canada.
I’ve been selling finished items on Etsy for several years now, but to be honest, I love creating one-of-a-kind pieces, and have trouble making anything the same way twice! Plus, knitting like a mad woman for half the year is just too time consuming with two little ones at home. So I’ve decided to take the plunge into knitwear design – I’d love for you to follow my journey over on the blog (www.knitabitofwhimsy.com/blog). I’m not sure it will be less time consuming, but at least I’ll be working on my own schedule 😉
I am passionate about slowing down our “fast fashion” culture; I don’t create items that are meant to be worn for a season or a year. My pieces are those that you will feel proud to wear for years to come. They also often quirky or whimsical, and will certainly allow you to show off your personality! “Slow fashion” is a movement involving sustainable practices, the ethical treatment of workers and the earth, and slowing down consumption, and I consider those processes throughout my creative process. Wherever possible I use wool that was raised and processed locally, and I have even begun spinning my own yarn (though that's mostly just for fun).
So come see what patterns are available today. I'm always coming up with something new!

Trouble #1
Designer, Tester
My daughter loves to help me design products. In particular, the unicorn hats in my shop were designed exactly to her specifications!

Trouble #2
Tester
Want to make sure your products are tough? Give them to a 3-year-old boy! This little guy loves to give my prototypes a thorough testing. He also has a few requests that might make it to my Etsy shelves sooner or later!

Frequently asked questions
What if the pattern is too confusing?
I have all my patterns test knit and tech edited to ensure a trouble-free knit! That being said, things do get missed, or sometimes my explanation just doesn't make sense to you.
If you run into any trouble along the way, email me at Sarah@knitabitofwhimsy.com, and I'll help you through the pattern. I believe an adventurous beginner can get through any of my patterns with a little bit of help.
I also provide tutorials of some of the trickier techniques on my blog: https://knitabitofwhimsy.com/tutorials
What if I don't like your pattern?
Please take a look at all the photos provided before purchasing a pattern. You can also visit Ravelry to see other projects created using my patterns here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/sarah-devantiers-ravelry-store/projects
Due to the nature of digital downloads, I am unable to offer refunds if you change your mind about the pattern.
Will I get a physical item?
No. You will not receive either a physical copy of the pattern, or a finished knitted item. This purchase is for a digital copy of the pattern only.
You are welcome to print yourself a copy at your local business copy centre (e.g., Staples or Kinkos).
If you wish to have a copy of this pattern for your Ravelry library, please contact me with your Ravelry username, and your Etsy receipt and I am happy to add it for you!
