Suzette did an exquisite job on the knit hat. She was so helpful and great to deal with, and so encouraging about my own very rudimentary attempts at knitting. I'm so glad she was willing to make this beautiful and warm custom order hat.

A day without knitting is a day without sunshine.

Since a very young age I've been crafting handknit and crocheted items. One of my first projects was a blanket, pillow and scarf for a favorite doll. As a young girl I searched high and low for handicraft directions geared toward my childlike fancies. There weren't many choices, so I began to make up my own patterns. Every so often I pull out the box in the attic that's full of those first creations. I still have my first knitted garment I made for myself; a red-white-and blue jumper that I knit in 7th grade. My teacher admired it and asked me to make one for her daughter. Every day when I got home from school I worked feverishly to complete it. She gave me a check for $20.00 when I was finished. I was thrilled to be able to make money doing what I loved. My etsy shop is an extension of that first love.

At my daughter's urging, I opened my etsy shop in late 2008 with only three teapot cozies that I just sort of threw out there, not really knowing what I was doing. The photos were horrid and my descriptions were spare and now seem laughable. I had so much to learn!

My first sale really surprised me . . . more so now since I realize how "primitive" my first listings were. Since then, I've sold many, many teapot cozies, scarves, fingerless gloves and other felted items. I've been slowly adding new things as the "spirit" moves.

Trying to stay current with trends is important to me. There are so many mass-produced items in the world . . . why look like everyone else? That's why I like to create my own version of styles. The embroidered Jacobean cowls are an example of my take on a current fashion trend.

Refunds and Exchanges
As far as refunds or exchanges, I'm fairly sure you'll love any choice you've made from my shop. In the event you or your gift recipient is unhappy, be sure to let me know right away and we can perhaps exchange it for something else in my shop, or refund any item returned in unused condition. Any questions or concerns, do not hesistate to contact me.

My most asked question? How do I know if the teapot cozy will fit my teapot? Read carefully through the description of the item you're interested in. Then measure circumferentially your own teapot including the handle and spout. To make sure you've chosen the correct size, add 1/2" or more for an easy fit.

If you've taken the time to read through the description of each item in my shop, and have measured to make sure of a good fit - I'm quite sure you'll be very pleased when you receive your handmade item.
