About

Do what you love. Love what you do.

Howdy, and welcome to Knitfarious!

I’ve always been the kind of person who was better on paper than in person. I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember and it’s something that I was particularly proud of. But then, in the past 3 years, a series of unfortunate and tragic events occurred in my life and I quickly found myself to be a lot less like myself and considerably more without words. It was troubling.

I knew I needed to find something to do with my hands, something that would be productive, something that would matter, something that would be the words when I couldn’t find my own.

I decided to teach myself how to knit because it was always something I wanted to learn but also because I fell in love with the infinite possibilities of yarn and its various personalities. I say ‘personalities’ because yarn can be bold and bright, romantic and soft, traditional and casual, or just about anything your mood needs it to be.

So stitch by stitch, I dedicated myself to this task and my voice returned. Over time, I realized that my pieces were stories and I’m honored to share my stories with you.

Coming up with the name Knitfarious is, obviously, a little tongue in cheek but I thought it appropriate because as a lover of words, sometimes we just have to wait long enough for a negative to become a positive, be it a word or an event, but that’s what knitting has become for me.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you find something that speaks to you.

♥,
Christina
