About

Handmade, Unusual, Colorful Knitted and Crocheted Toys With A Purpose-SHIPS INTERNATIONAL

I learned how to knit from my mom, and never did much with it other than make very short scarves until my sister got me a book on the Japanese art of amigurumi (small knitted or crocheted stuffed creatures) for Christmas in 2010. From this book, I learned how to follow patterns and in turn, I was completely hooked on making small items with a lot of character.

I started making my own patterns after being unable to find a pattern that looked exactly the way I wanted it to. I added crocheting to my repertoire after a few years, out of a need to innovate and keep my designs fresh. Eventually, I figured out how to best put my mark on my creations, and how to give them the maximum amount of expressiveness with a minimal amount of detail. I started working the craft show circuit in my local area when a good friend asked me to join her handmade gift show, and I have been slowly growing a customer base in the Northeast area ever since.

I make unique, colorful knitted and crocheted toys that are as enjoyable to have in the home for adults as they are for kids to play with. I put a lot of time and love into each one, and truly hope that love shows in all of them. Out of a need to give back and raise awareness, $1 from every sale in my shop gets donated to an animal charity-see individual listings for specifics.
