Annie is so sweet and helpful she even did a special request for me! She went out of her way to find a merino wool yarn to make my pussycat hats for me, I ordered 4 but she ended up with enough yarn left over to make a few more hats so I went with it, and ordered 2 more!!! They are gifts for girl friends so I'm glad I did it I think my friends will adore the hats just as I do! She kept in regular contact with me since she had a host of other customers and projects that she was already committed to before she could get to me. But she didn't leave me hanging out there to wonder what was going on, every now & again she would touch base with me about how the yarn search was coming and where I was in her que. I found my whole experience with Annie to be a pleasant one!!! Thank you, for reading my review I hope I was helpful.

About

Luxury Accessories & Home Decor with Real Life Practicality

All my items are crafted with love and skill to be well-loved, well-worn, and washed when needed so they can be handed down for younger ones to enjoy. Just like Grandma's gifts.

And on the flip side, I create all my items to fulfill a need with a luxurious feel. You don't just wear a hat to keep your head/ears warm. You wear it to express your style and because you like the way it feels, wears, and looks on you. So, too, do I try to design and meet the need for a great feeling, perfect-fit, long-wearing accessories -- both for your body AND your home. And washable for real life adventures.

Knittedhome began as an outlet for my finished works but it has bloomed into my favorite career! I've been crocheting since I was 7 (cir. 1993) + knitting since 14 (cir. 2001) - which is now the majority of my life! (Crazy to think!) I've learned everything from a few personal lessons + trial and error + books + word of mouth + the occasional YouTube video. But my grandmother, father, mother, and aunt have always been my go-to teachers.

When I sit down to knit something, it is usually to fulfill a need of something. Brainstorming with customers is one of the best ways I find inspiration. Collaborating to fill their needs is a welcomed challenge to flex my creativity + the feedback is priceless. Without it, I wouldn't learn as much as I do.
"two pairs of socks each… camo & denim for my grandson… pink sorbet for my granddaughter…"
Collaboration also ensures they are just the right size:
"My daughter is tall + slender. I need wool soaker pants ("longies") that don't look like high-waters on her."
Pinterest + fellow bloggers + Ravelry do a great job, too.

In addition to running my shop out of my home + showing at Vintage Markets and Art Fairs in NW Ohio, I currently teach beginners how to knit + crochet at local boutiques. I'm hoping to branch out into online classes in the near future. I have an email list & more details on my website: theknittedhome.com/classes

I learned to crochet when I was 7 from my Grandmother, mother, & father. At fourteen I learned to knit from my father’s aunt, so crafting runs in the family. However, I never learned to read patterns until I was 23. Instead, I continue to create my own patterns from pictures, physical items, and my own inspirations. My first attempt at selling anything homemade came freshman year in high school, selling purses I designed to my peers. This sparked my interest to sell other items: hats, scarves, & other purse designs.

I like to stick with patterns I've perfected and then leave the choice of colors & some color-patterns up to the customer. If you find you love the style of a certain item but want it in a different color or set of colors, please let me know and I will gladly make it for you. This is how I prefer to operate so I know you are getting what you want. :)

Crocheting & knitting are two of my favorite things to do. Any time I finish a project I'm always looking for another project to take its place. I hate having empty needles, or a hook, and especially idle hands.

I currently buy my yarn at a craft store or yarn shop near me and then crochet/knit everything by hand myself. If washing an item, I would recommend cold water and reshaping, lying flat to dry (especially if it is a heavy item) or you could try hang drying if the item's weight won't overstretch it (like a hat).

Please feel free to contact me with any question, concern, idea, proposal, etc. I'm always open to new ideas & suggestions. Happy Shopping!

As all items are handmade by me, there will be a few slight imperfections (yarn knots, fuzzies, etc) that make each item unique. However, if the item should be damaged (unraveling, breaks suddenly) within the first 4 weeks of use, please convo me so we can work out either a repair or exchange, depending on the situation. With any fiber craft, natural wear and tear will occur and I cannot be held responsible to replace items after such time.

I’d also be happy to ship internationally. Please convo me with an address and I will send you a quote for shipping. Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred. I have no way of calculating how much these fees would be, should they occur, and I am not responsible for those charges. For any additional information please refer to your local customs agency.

My shipping prices include the cost of packaging and shipping supplies. I send my items in recycled brown bags I sew at home to reduce my impact on the earth. If you prefer a new box, please mention so in the Note to Seller. Additional cost may apply.

If you would like your item shipped to an address different from the one listed on your Etsy account, please mention this in the Note to Seller upon checkout.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please remember all items are handmade by me so no two items are exactly alike. That’s the beauty of the item! Please allow for slight variances between similar items and colors (due to different dye-lots).

All items are created in a smoke-free environment with one housecat that does like to check out what I am working on from time to time.
