Siempre me ha encantado diseñar. Fui a la escuela para ser ilustradora de moda, pero como la vida quisiera, me casé y crié a dos niños. Aunque incursioné en la fabricación de manualidades y enseñé costura en varios espectáculos en los Estados Unidos para Stony Creek Collection, mi deseo siempre ha estado en el diseño. Así que en febrero de 2012, decidí intentarlo.
Mi estudio está en mi casa donde junto con mi esposo y nuestra muy servicial gata Molly, mis diseños toman forma. Pongo mucho corazón y alma en la planificación de cada pieza y continuamente aprendo cosas nuevas en el camino. ¡Eso también es emocionante para mí!
Cuando empecé a hacer mis bufandas me di cuenta de que necesitaba un nuevo nombre para combinar todos los aspectos de mi tienda. Así que creé KNITTED Ltd. No es solo una tienda que solo vende una cosa. Quiero que vengas y tengas la oportunidad de comprar una variedad de cosas que están hechas a mano y usar fibras de todo tipo.
Mi "Thready" se ha convertido en una de las herramientas de costura más populares que existen hoy en día. Viene en cuatro tamaños diferentes dependiendo de las necesidades del usuario. Todas son de madera maciza de pino. No se utilizan manchas ni tintes que afecten la calidad de sus hilos. Una vez que lo pruebes, te preguntarás cómo hiciste costura a mano sin él. ¡Me encanta usar el mío cuando hago mis joyas y osos de peluche! Mis clientes los han utilizado para bordar, acolchar, en su máquina de coser, en peluquerías y para la reparación diaria. ¡Es una herramienta increíble!
¡También me encantan los osos de peluche! ¡Mis osos están todos tejidos a mano y juntos a mano y con amor! La misma creación entra en cada oso que con mis joyas. Ninguno es nunca el mismo, especialmente las caras. Cada uno parece tener su propia expresión individual, lo cual es sorprendente para mí, ya que todos están hechos iguales. Siento que si puedes abrir tu corazón a algo, te hará sentir mejor. Así que creé mis osos de peluche. Vienen en todos los tamaños y pueden darnos consuelo cuando más lo necesitamos o decirle a alguien que los amas de una manera muy especial.
Cuando diseño una nueva pieza de joyería, veo los colores en mi mente y luego comienza la búsqueda de las cuentas y los colores disponibles. Quiero que cada pieza sea ligera y cómoda de usar y que la persona que la usa se sienta especial. Así es como quiero sentirme cuando me pongo una pieza de joyería. Hay demasiadas cosas en un día para hacernos sentir mal y quiero que mis joyas hagan que alguien se sienta bien consigo mismo. Cada pieza le llegará en una caja de regalo blanca atada con una cinta para dar regalos o simplemente como un regalo especial para usted. Me pruebo todas mis piezas y me aseguro de que me gusta la forma en que cuelgan y se sienten antes de que lleguen al consumidor.
Ahora estoy semi-jubilado y no puedo esperar para involucrarme aún más en mi tienda. Así que mi aventura continúa y espero que crezca más con cada día. I have always loved to design. I went to school to be a fashion illustrator but as life would have it I got married and raised two boys. Although I dabbled in making crafts and taught needlework at various shows around the United States for Stony Creek Collection, my desire has always been in designing. So in February of 2012, I decided to give it a go.
My studio is in my home where along with my husband and our very helpful cat Molly, my designs take shape. I put a lot of heart and soul into the planning of each piece and I continually learn new things along the way. That is exciting to me as well!
When I started making my scarves I realized that I needed a new name to combine all the aspects of my shop. So I created KNITTED Ltd. It's not just a shop that only sells one thing. I want you to come in and have a chance to buy a variety of things that are hand made and use fibers of all kinds.
My “Thready” has become one of the most popular sewing tools out there today. It comes in four different sizes depending on the needs of the user. All are made of solid pine wood. No stains or dyes are used to affect the quality of your threads. Once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever did hand sewing without it. I absolutely love using mine when I make my jewelry and teddy bears! My customers have used them for embroidery, quilting, by their sewing machine, in hair salons and for every day mending. It is an awesome tool!
I also love teddy bears! My bears are all hand knitted and put together by hand and with love! The same creating goes into each bear as with my jewelry. None are ever the same especially the faces. Each seems to have it's own individual expression, which is amazing to me since they are all made alike. I feel that if you can open your heart to something, it will make you feel better. So I created my teddy bears. They come in all sizes and can give us comfort when we need it most or tell someone you love them in a very special way.
When I design a new piece of jewelry, I see the colors in my minds eye and then the search begins for the beads and the colors available. I want each piece to be light and comfortable to wear and to make the person wearing it to feel special. That's how I want to feel when I put on a piece of jewelry. There are too many things in a day to make us feel bad and I want my jewelry to make someone feel good about themselves. Each piece will come to you in a white gift box tied with a ribbon for gift giving or just as a special gift for yourself. I try on all my pieces and make sure that I like the way they hang and feel before they ever make it to the consumer.
I am now semi-retired and I can't wait to get even more involved in my shop. So my adventure continues and I hope that it will grow more with each day. Please enjoy my designs and your visit here.
