Announcement   Luxury hand knit blankets, cocoons, scarves, and wraps. Each piece is 100% handmade, one of a kind, and is knit using only the finest, all natural materials. Toasty Strings - keeping you beautifully warm, inside and out.

Two hands, two sticks, and string. No machines, nothing mass produced, nothing factory made, and nothing outsourced. Everything is designed by me and made with my own two hands.

As a courtesy to our customers, shipping is FREE. We always use PRIORITY SHIPPING on all U.S. orders, which means your items will arrive within 2-4 days, depending on where you live.

Each piece is meticulously designed and knit with an emphasis on intricate detail. Everything I design is truly one of a kind.

My pieces are mostly made from all natural materials, and my favorite fibers are alpaca, cotton, merino wool, cashmere, and silk blends. Natural fibers are warmer, more durable, and look beautiful. Many of the yarns I use are from small heritage farms and yarn producers here in the U.S.

Please check back often for new items, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates. Also, follow our blog posts for info on pieces I'm currently knitting.

If you are a knitter, are in interested in any of my patterns, please visit my Etsy knitting patterns shop, FullmoonishDesigns. And visit often, since new patterns are being added often.

Thanks for visiting!

This scarf is a fantastic accessory for winter! Lorelei from Gilmore Girls had one and I needed one too!! 😊 Quick turn around! 👍🏻

This was a gift for my niece. Her response, "I I saw the word 'toasty strings' and just knew this was a special something ... I love love love it ! It is so beautiful and cozy!" This is not my first purchase from this shop. Highly recommended!

When your knitting is so big you have to use your guest bed to block it.
Not your average workspace! The yarn swift wouldn't fit on my work table, so computer desk it is.
Adding a little something extra to the latest baby sleep sack.

About

Knit. Laugh. Knit some more.

I love everything about knitting. And I laugh a lot. Somehow the two just go together.

I'm a Texas knitter who learned to knit in Switzerland when I was nineteen years old. I returned to the States eight years later and have been knitting ever since. Even tornadoes and extreme heat haven't stopped me.

Everything I make and sell is 100% designed by me and made by my own two hands. No machines, nothing mass produced, nothing factory made, and nothing outsourced. Everything is designed by me and made with my own two hands.

Toasty Strings is a small, family-operated business. I do all the designing and knitting, my husband does all the photography and tech support, and family and friends model the products. We photograph everything in the living room of our quaint, 1926 red brick house in East Dallas.

There is something very powerful about perpetuating an activity that has been passed down from person to person through the years--especially the act of creating and crafting something by hand--and knowing that you are part of a living tradition that will continue for as long as humans walk the earth.

Knitting, craftsmanship, and art connect us all, artist and appreciator alike.

My greatest pleasure is selling something I've designed and knit to people who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of handmade items, and who are equally committed to creating a simpler, more sustainable world.

I use natural fibers in everything I knit, which means using only the softest, finest materials, such as alpaca, cotton, cashmere, merino wool, silk blends, and bamboo. I'm committed to creating things that will last a lifetime or longer, things that can be passed down from one generation to another, and that means using fibers that are warm, durable, and made by nature. Many of the yarns I use come from small heritage farms and yarn producers.

I create my own designs, and no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Each piece is carefully designed based on the type of fiber I choose to work with. The work comes alive based on several factors: the way the yarn drapes as it hangs, its colors, its thickness, the patterns I envision, and the way it feels against my skin. It's a time-consuming process, and some larger pieces may take three weeks or longer to complete.

When I'm not knitting, I like to run. I run a lot. Being an ovarian cancer survivor means staying fit, eating healthy, and enjoying every single day of life. I love to read, I enjoy writing and long road trips out west, and there's never enough time for camping and being outdoors. The best designs are found in nature, and I get my inspiration for many projects there.

Also, there's nothing better than gazing at a star-filled sky in the desert. It keeps me humble.

In addition to Toasty Strings, I also sell some of my knitting patterns in my other Etsy shop, FullmoonishDesigns.
