I knit to keep my sanity

I started my shop years ago, though little did I know it would bring me here - I'm an accidental Etsian. I had started knitting to kill boredom at work (nights) and then people would ask me to knit them things. I re-found Etsy and started to list my items and here I am.
I knit like a maniac at times, churning out piece after piece after piece and then I take a break because I completely lose my creative self. Yet I then feel like I'm wasting my time by not knitting. I feel like I should be knitting, doing something productive with my time.
The shop name came from a conversation with my friend Geri. In fact, I think she might've coined it. Regardless.

I think I'd like to be a Knitting Ninja. Knit the cities at night, under the cover of darkness, in a knit Ninja costume. I would also need a Knitting Ninja signal, much like the Batman signal. I mean, come on. You just never know when there's a knitting emergency and someone needs a pair of fingerless gloves PRONTO!!!!! There's also the Red Emergency Knitting Phone so that I can be contacted whenever the bat ... I mean, knitting signal doesn't work (during the day).

I love to sit at work, on nights, reading a good book and knitting, though when I go through my dry spells, it feels like I'm cheating someone/something/myself by not knitting. Geri (who is my partner in crime and a knitter as well) reminds me that I'm not a factory.

I'm jealous of other crafts. It takes me several hours to complete a project and I'm jealous when someone can churn out something gorgeous and beautiful in less time than it takes me to finish half a hat. I'm not necessarily creative, I just follow instructions fairly well.

I have issues, though. I knit and knit and knit and then end up with all these knitted wares with no owners. Do you know someone who loves knitted items? Tell them to come on over to my (cyber)shop.

I knit to keep my sanity because I have a cat and two kids (I also have a husband but he doesn't drive me insane...well... not often, at least). And let's face it. Cats dream of taking over the world and kids, without realizing it, conspire to drive you insane. My cat has regular spazz attacks, my son has ADD and my daughter has Autism. I knit to keep my sanity. I'm not quite sure how it's working out thus far...I'll let you know when I find it.

This is our Policies Page. It's not very exciting, sorry. And I promise it isn't full of legal mumbo jumbo. What you see is what you get.


Please be aware that this IS a smoke free home however we are owned by a cat. And while I do keep all my knitted items, supplies and yarn in airtight bins, cat hair will travel while I knit.


During the Christmas season I will write in the shop announcement when I am no longer able to guarantee arrival by Christmas via regular mail.
If you don't specify that you need the item by a certain date then it will be mailed to you, the buyer, via regular mail.
If you specify that you need the item by a certain date then you, the buyer, must pay for the extra shipping costs.
If you specify that you require the item by a certain date but are not willing to pay the extra in shipping then I will either refund the money for the item you purchased or I will send it via regular mail. I will not pay the costs of extra shipping.


Please wash your item when you receive it. When the yarn comes from the factory, it's dirty. When it sits on the store shelf it gets handled and loved and ogled by knitters and crochet-ers alike, and gets dirty. And then when I buy it, the natural oils from my hands will make it dirty. It is my very strict policy to NEVER wash an item when I've finished it so PLEASE wash your item before you wear/use it.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
I will honour a full refund, less shipping, within 30 days of selling you the item however the cost of shipping the item back to me is your responsibility, as well as the custom/border fees.

If your item arrives to you damaged please send it back to me for a full refund, minus shipping costs to and from your doorstep.

Custom orders can not be returned and are final sales.
Payment must be received before the item will be shipped to you. Custom orders will require a 50% non-refundable deposit. This is to secure your order and to purchase the yarn/products necessary to complete your order.
All items are now being sent using Chit Chats, who ship via Canada Post, USPS, or your local postal service.

I AM NOT LIABLE FOR LOST PACKAGES and will not issue refunds for lost or delayed mail.


Also, please be aware that your border may hold your package for inspection which can cause delay in arrival. This is not my fault.


Please be advised that I will ship the item to your ETSY address. If you wish to send this item as a gift (surprise!) then please let me know!
