When opportunity KNOCKs
A couple years ago, I would have described myself as a weekend... professional kids party planner. I had a regular day job but I was excited for my new creative outlet. I had taken the leap and started a small business, curated a closet full of props and even published a cute little blog to match. On that blog, I would share photos of my work for the entire world to see (or at least, the 8 people that actually read my blog).
Then, as fate would have it, a Toy Story inspired wreath got me a little more attention than I had ever bargained for. I created it on a whim. Woody and several little toy soldiers on a wreath with matching ribbons and an etch a sketch telling guests to come in. It was a completely natural thing for me to do. Wreaths were such a common notion. I just gave it a twist of whimsy and a bit of party humor. I was taken back by the response it received.
Soon there after, I was moonlighting at the Knock-Knock factory, accepting custom orders from fellow PARTY bloggers and eventually their own readers. From a NO WOLVES ALLOWED wreath for a little Red Ridding Hood Party to over the top Alice in Wonderland wreaths and everything in between.
Today, I am thrilled for every chance to create something special and handmade. I fully embrace the next creative opportunity and then I go make a wreath for it!
