About knottymama

Sales 312
On Etsy since 2009

Love the life you live, Live the life you love.

I get up in the morning, take deep breaths, and smile smile smile. " 'Cause the view from the tree house is mighty Fine."

As the Season changes towards the sun, the sewing room sprites leave tiny footprint shaped mud puddles. The gnomes of Notions haul in little bales of seer sucker and swiss dot from the Fabric Cave.
Whimsical Summeresque Creations soon to be spilling out of this dimension portal!

KnottyMama is an outgrowth of previous adventures formerly known as Dreads n Threads.

My creations are almost solely vintage and second hand fabrics which pour forth from my fabric cave. My designs are founded on my early experiences with the rainbow and Dead scene. I made my first dress under the tutelage of a rainbow mama named Dakota on the Wood Gnome's floor. They have grown with my sewing education and are constantly influenced by the swirling universe and other like minded artists. Most garments are dictated by their original form.

I am a one woman show. Every sale has a direct impact in my quest of going furthur! I dwell in a solar powered domicile and work our organic farm. Our Mountain Cur Dawg chases Tyrion, the bantam rooster, while my Husbandito and I play in the dirt, constructing our earth bag dome home in our "free" time!

Each one-of-a-kynd garment is reincarnated, they have transcended into a new existence. My clothes are made almost exclusively from recycled/upcycled fabric. This may mean some fabrics could have slight wear or imperfections. I make sure that it will not effect the durability of my creations!

*Under Bust (along the bottom of your bra)
*Middle (the widest part around your middle be it Waist, Hip, or Rear
*Length (measure from bottom of bra to the desired length of the "skirt"

—-Mother Mayhem MuuMuus:
High bust: this is around your body, approximately at the top of your bra cup. (This where the neckline will sit.)

Strap length: an accurate way to measure this is to measure your bra while on, if possible, from top of front cup to the top of the back.

And length: measure from top of bra cup down to desired hem length!

Q. How long will it take for a custom order to be made and in the mail?
*Nature never rushes, but blooms on her own time.

Each Custom Order is unique, but almost ALL the time, i require a week for each dress, top, or pair of bloomers, and Due to the intense communication some times needed for for TOP HaTS and other full patchwork items, I require at least two weeks for completion.

I ship customs USPS priority mail with insurance matching the cost of the garment, in reused mailing envelopes/boxes or recycled cereal boxes.

Make sure you have all the right information on your shipping address. I do ship with tracking and insurance, but I am not responsible for items lost in the mail due wrong address.

Sizing details

As most consumers know, clothing size varies depending on the style, store, and location, that is why when you are buying a handmade knottymama original it is important to know your actual measurements.

I use generic terms such as Large, Medium, etc, or even actual size numbers which as previously mentioned is not an actual standard. This is to help possible customers find what they are looking for. To ensure a perfect fit, I recommend knowing your actual measurements, so you can compare them to the actual measurements of each garment.
*** Feel free to convo me if you need help figuring out where to measure and how!

*(also when ordering a custom made item, I will need ACTUAL measurements, not just your size)

Care instructions

For life time enjoyment, I highly recommend that handmade pieces of clothing are hand washed and line dried. However, my garments are well made and can withstand regular laundering, though i do suggest washing in cold and low heat dry.
