Welcome to my one-woman, Bulldog Smother shop. I create and run all aspects of Knotty Or Spice® on my own, so it means everything to me that you love your purchase.

There is never a dull moment living with a bullheaded husband and three bullheaded rescue dogs! Life is such a gas that I must share our laughable moments through my creations. Knotty Or Spice candles are so much more than just scented candles. They are pieces of my Bulldogs’ personalities and my heart and hyperactive mind. Unlike many candle shops, I create my own scent combinations, hand-drawn labels and candle names. To me, the beauty and fun are in the creative process. Mother Nature and life provide enough inspiration for all of us to be unique.

Piper was a donut-obsessed, one-eyed English Bulldog who could barely walk a block. She battled cancer, heart disease, hip dysplasia, and arthritis. Piper took 8 years of being mistreated and unwanted and blossomed into an internationally collected artist who puts smiles on faces and helps rescue dogs, even after her passing. Knotty Or Spice sparked from Piper’s naughty and spicy personality and ability to light up any room. She never let any of her health issues prevent her from getting to a donut or making a difference. Piper reminds us that we all have the strength to inspire, create and be good at something when given love and encouragement. If it weren’t for Piper, I would have never established Rags To Royals® Rescue or saved other special needs Bulldogs in her honor. I certainly wouldn’t have all of the inspiration for the silly candles, like Bulldog Fart Clouds®!

I’m passionate about animals and cruelty-free and nontoxic products. I use vegan and natural soy wax grown by USA farmers and combine premium fragrance and essential oils free of toxins, phthalates and carcinogens.
