About KonaThreadsCo

Sales 49
On Etsy since 2021

Inspired by our West African heritage and united by our craft, we create cozy, one-of-a-kind home accessories to brighten your life.

Growing up in Western Canada, our West African roots often took a backseat in our life. Despite this, our mother introduced us to textile, more specifically the Soninke tradition of indigo dyeing. We tried it, but we sucked so she did what her grandmother did with her, which was to teach us crocheting. Over the years, we learned more about our culture, its traditions, and stories, which became the inspiration for our creations. Kona Threads Co is a way for us to preserve our Soninke culture and memories and to share our work with the world.
