3 out of 5 starsThis saying is so true around this house, but the paw prints were much darker that depicted so some of the letters are difficult to make out. Maybe we will have to do our own touch up paint.

A big seller, garden markers made from vintage slate pieces.
Hand painted signs on wood and slate. Custom work available
I have loved crafting for years, keeping my hands busy and giving my items away for gifts. Then I picked up a piece of slate. I was in love. I painted signs for everyone. After that I painted more and more and more. I had stockpiles. My mother also paints, so she suggested I attend a craft show at a local school with her. I thought it was a wonderful idea. Get my products out there and spend the whole day with my mother. Now I am not sure the later was a good thing, but I sold several items and received wonderful feedback. So the journey began.
I booked more shows, mostly working by myself as my husband was still driving truck. I met new people (which is the bonus of the journey), networked, found more shows, and soon was doing over 30 a year. I was doing okay, but when my husband retired, I really started to span out and with his help we started to develop our online presence.
My husband Mike does all of the reclaiming of the slate; actually removing it from the roofs of barns and houses; as well as buying of the wood, and the cutting, cleaning, and priming as necessary. He is also my roadie and accompanies me to all my shows and I have affectionately given him the title of CEO, which stands for Carry Everything Out. It is a match made in heaven.
Now we spend our winters in Florida and our summers in Ohio. We have cut back on our show schedule and spend our time developing our online business. That is where you our customers come in. I love the interaction, discussing your ideas, and making that one of a kind or special order sign just for you. As you see, I have increased my quantities on most of my handmade items. This is due to the fact we hand make our products and essentially never run out.
I hope you will allow me the opportunity to make something nice for you, or perhaps find something in my shop that really makes you smile.

Shop policies
My vintage items are just that. They will generally show wear and tear unless noted otherwise. I will be sure to note any true defects, i.e. chips or dings, but otherwise note you are buying a piece of the past. As I enjoy reusing items from the past, this also includes my packaging. In an effort to be green, I reuse all packaging when I ship my items. Thank you for allowing me to save a tree or two.
