Krix ha estado fascinada con los minerales, gemas y cristales desde que era una niña. Para ella, tienen un cierto poder y belleza únicos para cada espécimen individual.

Mientras visitaba el casino Borgata, se topó con el majestuoso trabajo de las instalaciones de sol, luna y estrellas de Dale Chihuly. Una ardiente pasión por el vidrio se encendió de inmediato.

Nunca soñando con poder crear obras de arte de vidrio por su cuenta, se topó con un amigo que, en ese momento, ¡estaba haciendo cuentas de vidrio! Emocionado, cautivado y listo para aprender, a Krix le enseñaron cómo hacer una cuenta por primera vez ...

Consumida por la magia espectral de la llama, las llamaradas de las varillas y las infinitas posibilidades de lo que se puede crear, comenzó a estudiar por su cuenta leyendo textos y observando atentamente a otros para avanzar aún más en su conocimiento del arte del vidrio.

A través de la práctica diligente y la empresa firme, alcanzó el conocimiento que posee hoy, totalmente consciente de que todavía hay mucho que aprender, que es otro aspecto fascinante de este maravilloso medio.

Teniendo éxito en el sueño de mezclar estos materiales, ha creado su línea de joyería que no solo tiene una belleza incomparable, sino también propiedades para equilibrar los chakras y el bienestar general.

Krix disfruta de las sonrisas radiantes en los rostros de sus clientes cuando ven y ponen sus creaciones artesanales únicas para la primera y cada vez a partir de entonces.

Después de años de anhelo de crear sus propios ajustes y hallazgos de joyería, Krix también comenzó a explorar la orfebrería. Encontrar y estudiar con Suzi Kamen fue un momento maravilloso. Una criatura tan radiante dispuesta a compartir su riqueza de conocimientos con alguien que arde con el deseo de aprender ...

Al incluir metal de fabricación propia en esta mezcla de vidrio y piedras, la gran mayoría de la línea de Krix ahora está hecha a mano.

Para Krix, es un pensamiento mágico crear obras de arte que durarán más que ella misma en el tiempo. Existen muchas piezas de vidrio antiguo en todo el mundo que están tan bien conservadas que parece que han estado intactas desde tiempos inmemoriales y le emociona saber que algún día en un futuro lejano algún arqueólogo desenterrará una de sus piezas y podrá atesorarla incluso entonces ...



El proceso de fabricación de una pieza de vidrio:

Tomo varillas de vidrio y las derrito en la llama de mi antorcha y las doy forma en consecuencia.

Después de lograr el efecto deseado, la pieza se coloca en un horno donde se enfría lentamente, haciendo que el vidrio sea duradero contra las diferentes tensiones que pueda encontrar.

Para los collares, utilizo cuentas seleccionadas a mano que coinciden con la pieza, creo un diseño y empiezo a encadenarlo todo.

Cada pieza es fotografiada por mí, generalmente afuera a la luz natural del sol.

... ¡Luego me siento y lo enumero en etsy mientras la pieza todavía se está enfriando en el horno! :]

Krix has been fascinated with minerals, gems and crystals since she was a child. To her, they hold a certain power and beauty unique to each individual specimen.

While visiting the Borgata casino, she stumbled upon the majestic work of Dale Chihuly's sun, moon and stars installations. A burning passion for glass was ignited immediately.

Never dreaming of eventually being able to create glass works of art on her own, she bumped into a friend who, at the time, was making glass beads! Excited, enthralled and ready to learn, Krix was taught how to make a bead for the first time…

Consumed by the spectral magic of the flame, the flares of the rods and the unending possibilities of what can be created, she started studying on her own by reading texts and intently watching others to further advance her knowledge of glass art.

Through diligent practice and steadfast enterprise she attained the knowledge she holds today, wholly aware that there is still so much to learn, which is another fascinating aspect about this wondrous medium.

Succeeding in the dream of blending these materials together, she has created her line of jewelry which holds not only unparalleled beauty but also properties to balance chakras and overall well-being.

Krix relishes in the beaming smiles on the faces of her customers when they see and put on their unique handcrafted creations for the first and each time thereafter.

After years of longing to create her own jewelry settings and findings, Krix also started to explore metalsmithing. Finding and studying under Suzi Kamen was a wondrous moment. Such a radiant creature willing to share her wealth of knowledge to someone burning with desire to learn…

By including self-made metal into this mix of glass and stones the great majority of Krix' line is now crafted by hand.

To Krix, it is a magical thought to create pieces of art that will outlast even herself in time. Many pieces of ancient glass exist all over the world that are so well-preserved that it seems that they have been untouched since times immemorial and it thrills her to know that someday in the distant future some archeologist will dig up one of her pieces and be able to treasure it even then...



The process of making a glass piece:

I take glass rods and melt them in the flame of my torch and shape accordingly.

After I achieve the desired effect, the piece is placed into a kiln where it is cooled slowly, making the glass durable against different stresses it may encounter.

For necklaces, I use hand-selected beads matching the piece, create a design and start stringing it all together.

Each piece is photographed by me, usually outside in natural sunlight.

…Then I sit down and list it on etsy while the piece is still cooling down in the kiln! :]
