Krix tem sido fascinado por minerais, gemas e cristais desde que ela era criança. Para ela, eles possuem um certo poder e beleza únicos para cada espécime individual.

Enquanto visitava o cassino Borgata, ela se deparou com o majestoso trabalho das instalações de Sol, Lua e Estrelas de Dale Chihuly. Uma paixão ardente por vidro foi incendiada imediatamente.

Nunca sonhando em eventualmente ser capaz de criar obras de arte de vidro por conta própria, ela esbarrou em um amigo que, na época, estava fazendo contas de vidro! Animado, encantado e pronto para aprender, Krix foi ensinado a fazer uma conta pela primeira vez...

Consumida pela magia espectral da chama, pelas chamas das hastes e pelas infinitas possibilidades do que pode ser criado, ela começou a estudar sozinha lendo textos e observando atentamente os outros para avançar ainda mais seu conhecimento sobre arte de vidro.

Através de uma prática diligente e empreendimento firme, ela alcançou o conhecimento que possui hoje, totalmente consciente de que ainda há muito a aprender, que é outro aspecto fascinante sobre esse meio maravilhoso.

Tendo sucesso no sonho de misturar esses materiais, ela criou sua linha de joias que contém não apenas beleza incomparável, mas também propriedades para equilibrar chakras e bem-estar geral.

Krix gosta dos sorrisos radiante nos rostos de seus clientes quando eles vêem e colocam suas criações artesanais únicas para a primeira e cada vez depois disso.

Depois de anos de saudade de criar suas próprias configurações e descobertas de joias, Krix também começou a explorar metaleiro. Encontrar e estudar com Suzi Kamen foi um momento maravilhoso. Uma criatura tão radiante disposta a compartilhar sua riqueza de conhecimento para alguém queimando com o desejo de aprender...

Ao incluir o metal auto-fabricado nesta mistura de vidro e pedras, a grande maioria da linha Krix é agora feita à mão.

Para Krix, é um pensamento mágico criar peças de arte que durarão até mesmo a si mesma no tempo. Existem muitas peças de vidro antigo em todo o mundo que são tão bem preservadas que parece que foram intocadas desde tempos imemoriais e a emociona saber que algum dia em um futuro distante algum arqueólogo vai desenterrar uma de suas peças e ser capaz de valor precisá-la mesmo assim...



O processo de fazer uma peça de vidro:

Eu tomo varas de vidro e as derreto na chama da minha tocha e moldo de acordo.

Depois que eu conseguir o efeito desejado, a peça é colocada em um forno onde é resfriada lentamente, tornando o vidro durável contra diferentes estresses que pode encontrar.

Para colares, uso contas selecionadas à mão combinando com a peça, crio um design e começo a amarrar tudo.

Cada peça é fotografada por mim, geralmente fora sob a luz natural do sol.

... Então eu sento e listo-o no etsy enquanto a peça ainda está esfriando no forno! :]

Krix has been fascinated with minerals, gems and crystals since she was a child. To her, they hold a certain power and beauty unique to each individual specimen.

While visiting the Borgata casino, she stumbled upon the majestic work of Dale Chihuly's sun, moon and stars installations. A burning passion for glass was ignited immediately.

Never dreaming of eventually being able to create glass works of art on her own, she bumped into a friend who, at the time, was making glass beads! Excited, enthralled and ready to learn, Krix was taught how to make a bead for the first time…

Consumed by the spectral magic of the flame, the flares of the rods and the unending possibilities of what can be created, she started studying on her own by reading texts and intently watching others to further advance her knowledge of glass art.

Through diligent practice and steadfast enterprise she attained the knowledge she holds today, wholly aware that there is still so much to learn, which is another fascinating aspect about this wondrous medium.

Succeeding in the dream of blending these materials together, she has created her line of jewelry which holds not only unparalleled beauty but also properties to balance chakras and overall well-being.

Krix relishes in the beaming smiles on the faces of her customers when they see and put on their unique handcrafted creations for the first and each time thereafter.

After years of longing to create her own jewelry settings and findings, Krix also started to explore metalsmithing. Finding and studying under Suzi Kamen was a wondrous moment. Such a radiant creature willing to share her wealth of knowledge to someone burning with desire to learn…

By including self-made metal into this mix of glass and stones the great majority of Krix' line is now crafted by hand.

To Krix, it is a magical thought to create pieces of art that will outlast even herself in time. Many pieces of ancient glass exist all over the world that are so well-preserved that it seems that they have been untouched since times immemorial and it thrills her to know that someday in the distant future some archeologist will dig up one of her pieces and be able to treasure it even then...



The process of making a glass piece:

I take glass rods and melt them in the flame of my torch and shape accordingly.

After I achieve the desired effect, the piece is placed into a kiln where it is cooled slowly, making the glass durable against different stresses it may encounter.

For necklaces, I use hand-selected beads matching the piece, create a design and start stringing it all together.

Each piece is photographed by me, usually outside in natural sunlight.

…Then I sit down and list it on etsy while the piece is still cooling down in the kiln! :]
