From pediatrician to antique dealer

I used to be a pediatrician. Then I got married, inherited an instant family and got pregnant. Life as a doctor is rewarding but not entirely conducive to being a mom. So I started Howard Knits, where I sold luxury recycled yarns, giving other knitters like me the chance to buy beautiful yarns as discount prices.

But I grew up in antiques and have surrounded myself with them. I have few new pieces of furniture; retro pieces speak to me more. After learning the trade from following my antique dealing parents around since I was a kid I knew I wanted to start dealing in them, too. I love the thrill of finding a great piece that I can offer to my customers. Favorite items include pottery, housewares, and linens, and I love anything midcentury and 1970s.

I grew up as a child of antique dealers and have loved vintage goods for as long as I can remember. I love items that have a patina and history. My home is filled with antiques; I especially love pottery, kitchenware, and linens.

Accepted payment methods

Paypal Mastercard Visa American Express Discover Apple Pay Klarna Giftcard
Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I will refund all items including shipping costs if the buyer is unhappy with their purchase. I will not accept returns for damage that is clearly described. However, if your item arrives with undisclosed damage (a chip I didn't notice, etc.) please contact me so that I can make amends to you. Simply contact me and I will work with you to arrange the return.
Payment
Currently I accept all major credit cards (through Paypal), Paypal, and money orders. Items will be shipped once payment is received. Please allow 7 - 10 business days for items to arrive (though most items will arrive much sooner) in the US. If you live elsewhere, it will take some time for your item to clear customs, so allow a week or so longer.
Shipping
I use the US Postal Service to ship all items.

Small items that cannot break or be crushed, books, and anything else that is appropriate will be shipped in padded shipping envelopes to keep costs down. These items are shipped First Class and will take 3 - 5 days to arrive once mailed.

Items which need to be boxed and is small to medium sized and that doesn't weigh a lot will be mailed via Priority Mail (which is how I send most items). These items will arrive in 1 - 2 days for mainland US and 3 days for Hawaii and Alaska.

Large and/or heavy items are sent vial Parcel Post. These items may take up to 9 days to arrive. This is by far the most economical way I've found to send these items; there can be up to a $50 difference between Parcel Post and Priority Mail.

I will ship internationally but the buyer assumes all shipping costs which can be very high. Unless the item is a flat first class item the shipping seems to start around $15.00 and goes up from there.
