About

Kuenzi Fabrications: A Heritage of Craftsmanship, Joy, and Ambition

When our eldest daughter was in middle school home economics class, she had an assignment to Make a Simple Tote Bag. My wife was enthused--for ME--and said since I was "the creative one" I should be the mentor and accompany my daughter on this project journey. Being a military vet, one of my principles is to never start a project half invested, so we went and bought my daughter her own sewing machine, all the essential accessories, and sewing table. She and I sat side by side as we made that very first envelope style "simple" tote bag. After we were happily successful and her grade was exactly what she wanted, she put her sewing machine away. My machine...Ahem...my Wife's machine, has NEVER been put away since. I was Bitten by the sewing bug! If you sew, you know the bug I am talking about. It's a relative to the bug that ensures you never throw away a single scrap of material that might one day, probably not soon, be part of the next great project. But I digress. Sewing wasn't JUST the joy of discovery for me it was the joining of my new ambition with already present family heritage--my mother, my grandmother, generations back--the gene pool is full of skilled craftsmen and craftswomen who plowed forward ambitiously seeking new ways of making needed, useful, and sometimes simply wanted products out of NEW and OLD materials. The crafty people in the familiar behind me include quilters, cabinet makers, welders, and I am quite sure a Watch-maker or two. Through numerous military moves and now at last back in the private sector Kuenzi Fabrications continues, officially since January 1, 2011 but in truth several years before that. Growing up on a farm in Southern Wisconsin, I am familiar with many farming metaphors and proverbs which often filter into my discussions or sewing classes. One of my favorite proverbs fits my enthusiasm for sewing best--I have put my hand to the plow and I am not looking back because Sewing not only involves personal satisfaction but it opens new opportunities for me to SHARE the joy and the products with others. Well, I gotta run, there's a Local Benefit being held today and Kuenzi Fab (So Fabulous!) is "All In."

Welcome to Kuenzi Fabrications. I am pleased you have dropped by to visit, get ideas, shop, or even offer advice. Being new to small business and internet sales, I will take any help I can get but intend to start out slow as I continue working full time in my Non-Fabricated Life as a US Military Veteran, Husband, and Father. As with anything else in my life that has succeeded, Kuenzi Fabrications will succeed not because of "I" but because of "We" so this effort will grow with my family in mind and with their motivated assistance. For sure, if you see me doing something really ignorant, please do point it out to me. If you like what you see, Say So--send me some feedback. If you like what you see, but can't afford the item but think you could make it with a little help, I may provide directions. Thanks for stopping by to vist or shop at Kuenzi Fabrications and, please, call me "Rand," everyone else does.

Payment
You do not need a PayPal Account to pay for your items through PayPal:

You can choose the PayPal Option during checkout. After you submit your order click the "Pay Now" button. Scroll Down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card WITHOUT having to sign up for a PayPal account.

Packages will not be mailed or projects begun until payment is received. If for any reason a buyer has problems with a payment or making a payment, please contact me. In the event of non-payment, the request for sale will not be acted upon so early resolution of payment disconnects is advised--please send me an email directly. Insincere requests for a sale item (window shoppers who accidentally request a sale item) should simply NOT complete sale and the request will also not be acted upon. I may choose to provide negative buyer feedback for non-payment as well an extreme measure. For serious shoppers--Please, Shop Like You Mean It!
Shipping
Shipments will normally be made within 3 - 4 weeks after receipt of payment unless materials have not been located or there are extraordinary challenges to the project. If delayed, I will contact the buyer as soon as the delay is realized. Normally, items will be shipped using USPS, 7-10 day ground transportation. Shipments mailed overseas (except to Military APO) can take weeks so estimating the delivery time is not wise. All of the items can be mailed in either light boxes or even bubble wrap lined envelopes since they are not fragile.
Refunds and Exchanges
If the item you receive does not please you, please first contact me and we will readdress the requirements and decide if there is some way to remedy the existing item. If the determination is made that the item can be altered to meet your requirements at reasonable cost, we will work out how to make that happen. The second option, if you are still dissatisfied, is for you to mail the item back to me and I will make a completely new item matches the clarified requirements. If the second item does not meet your requirements, then I will refund your full cost after you return the second item. If an item is damaged beyond repair in shipping, please contact me and we'll look at the item digitally, and then decide the way forward. I do not guarantee I can please EVERY customer nor do I believe the customer is always right but it would be extremely surprising for me not to please after honest, open communication so I would not assume it was entirely my fault.
Additional policies and FAQs
EACH AND EVERY ITEM IS HANDMADE AND CUSTOMIZED. I wish I could say these items were "Made in the USA," but since so much material is made overseas that is not possible. However, I completely design and assemble each item myself and don't believe in mistakes as much as opportunities to innovate or accessorize.
