    Announcement    My newest work is a series of aerial abstract acrylic paintings of dynamic locations around the world. Currently offering two as of this writing. More in the series will be listed this spring ( so real soon). The two paintings are entitled "Maumee River Toledo Ohio" and "North & Laramie Chicago Illinois". Coming soon - "Times Square New York" and "Champs-Élysées Paris France".

    I have also listed some of the whimsical pieces I created over the past years. These are what's left of a discontinued line of original design clocks and mirrors.

    Over the next couple of weeks, I will list 5 series of works whose common theme is Transformation.

    I wish to offer for your consideration the following pieces with personas that meander about our life and times with sure intent. Determined to make the molt, the switch, the Transformation. Whether it is a quest for flesh or a crusade for the past or against the future, these characters all have a common desire. These slaves and cast-offs, these dead and undead, these denizens of the residuum need what they need - to be loved, by you.

    The titles for the five Transformation series are:

    * Your Robot Code Of Flesh - 14 acrylic on board paintings with collage
    * An American Tablet: Robot In The Green Room, Zombie In The Red Room - 11
    acrylic on board paintings
    * Day Of The Dead - 10 collage and acrylic on board
    * Denizens Of The Residuum - 14 assemblage of found objects on board
    * Iconic Devices/Navigators - 25 found object wall sculptures

    More art to come (always)! Thanks and enjoy!

    About

    My Art

    Thanks for having a look-see at my site. I’d like to tell you a bit about myself and my work.

    I have very little formal training (a few art classes at Circle Campus in the late 1960’s) but the love of creating things has been with me most of my life. The 1980’s and 90’s found me making and selling utilitarian objects (clocks, mirrors, small furniture pieces etc.) at art and craft shows in and around the Chicago area. Primitive art and mythology were the inspiration and force then as it still is with my current works. In 2000 I took a sabbatical from art and went back to full time work, driving my van delivering “stuff” all over the country. This travel has allowed me to see the ever changing American (indeed global) culture surfing the brick and mortar web of real highways and byways. Transformation is in everything and now in my new art. Some themes I like to explore in my work are:

    Tradition - is it just a drunken bigot, or a wise sage?;
    Artificial Intelligence - is it utopia or just surrender?

    I attempt to do these pieces with a bit of humor and a lot of color. They are acrylic painting on fiberboard, collage and acrylics, and found object assemblages. Please send me a convo/email if you have any questions.
