My love of art started as early as I can remember. Art was always my favorite subject in school. In high school, I was into photography. I always had my camera and spent hours in the dark room. After high school, I took a year off and took art classes at Oregon School of Arts and Crafts. I studied photography, drawing and textiles.

While I had a passion for art and design, I was also interested in business. I always admired entrepreneurs and often read Fortune and Inc Magazine. I had the dream of mixing my love of art and business. For college, I headed to Vermont and studied Economics. I spent my summers studying at Rhode Island School of Design. After earning my BA in Economics, I earned a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design.

Since college, I have always worked in creative roles. I started in the home textile industry marketing and doing product development. After that, I moved into game design working on packaging and product development. Ultimately, I moved into branding and advertising.

I started taking oil painting classes on Tuesday nights and then painting more on weekends. Painting brings me joy and balance. I get into my creative zone and paint late into the night. My subject matter is often cityscapes or landscapes. I like to capture people in relaxed positions. More recently, I've been painting animals.

My life beyond art and design includes a wonder family – my husband Mikal, twin sons Jacob and Nicolai, 2 Golden Retrievers and a tuxedo cat.
