This is a beautiful print from our favorite family vacation spot for the last 30 years. The print came quickly and communication via email was excellent. We will have this on our entry wall to enjoy!

Kathryn's art is amazing. I purchased 2 gorgeous central Oregon prints to hang in my Sunriver home. The prints were perfectly packed for shipping; flat, not in a tube - ready to frame, and quickly shipped. I hope this artist continues to give us new work. I am a fan.
My creative journey - Kathryn Wright Apenes
My love of art started as early as I can remember. Art was always my favorite subject in school. In high school, I was into photography. I always had my camera and spent hours in the dark room. After high school, I took a year off and took art classes at Oregon School of Arts and Crafts. I studied photography, drawing and textiles.
While I had a passion for art and design, I was also interested in business. I always admired entrepreneurs and often read Fortune and Inc Magazine. I had the dream of mixing my love of art and business. For college, I headed to Vermont and studied Economics. I spent my summers studying at Rhode Island School of Design. After earning my BA in Economics, I earned a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design.
Since college, I have always worked in creative roles. I started in the home textile industry marketing and doing product development. After that, I moved into game design working on packaging and product development. Ultimately, I moved into branding and advertising agencies.
About 10 years ago, I began exploring fine arts. I started taking oil painting classes at Multnomah Art Center on Tuesday nights. As the mother of twin boys and managing a full-time job, Tuesdays were my only time to paint. Eventually, I began painting at home. On weekends, I get into my creative zone and then paint late into the night.
I love to paint. It brings me joy and balance. After a week of pushing pixels, I love to mush paint and play with colors. My subject matter is often cityscapes or landscapes. I like to capture people in relaxed positions. At lunch time and on the weekends, I walk around photographing people dining, biking, walking or sitting. I like to capture peaceful moments.
Since I paint in my studio at night, I work from my photos. I don’t work from other people’s photos because I feels it is important to experiences the moment. The photos capture the image, but the feeling of the moment is included in my memory.
My life beyond art and design includes a wonder family – my husband Mikal, twin boys Jacob and Nicolai, 2 Golden Retrievers and 2 cats. We live in Portland Oregon and often travel to Black Butte Ranch, OR.
