Announcement   Thank you for your interest in my handcrafted jewelry. My shop has been shut down for several months while I sold my house, bought a new one and made the move. I'm in the process of starting up again and if you would like to view some of the pieces I've made in the past, feel free to look through some of my previously sold items while waiting for me to get them all up and ready for sale.

All of my jewelry Items are hand made in my studio and by my hand (except for any of the "vintage" items I've purchased at estate sales and some of the purchased charms that I add to my handmade pieces..)

I purchase my sheet silver and my silver wire from companies that verify the country of origin and I purchase from only those that sell silver produced in the USA. I do use various beads and gemstones that are produced in other countries. Most of the chain I use is also manufactured in the USA, but I also have some that was made in Italy. Any time the Italian chain is used, I list it as such. I also make my own chain from sterling silver wire. That is always noted in my description. I also use leather from Greece and will continue until I locate a supplier in the US that can make fine leather cord like I get from Greece.

I love making all sorts of jewelry - from elaborate, expensive pieces to sweet and simple - basic pieces that are more affordable. I also have some hand finished chains and leather necklaces ready for you to use with your own charms and pendants.
Wedding jewelry is available in individual pieces or in multiples with a nice discount. Let me know what you need and we can make arrangements for one or all of your bridal party.

Thanks for visiting my shop.

Welcome to A Sterling Performance, featuring my hand made jewelry. I have been crafting pretty much all my life, but mostly for my own pleasure. I discovered the world of jewelry making and after a very few months, my "witness bracelets" were being sold in 14 states. I was in business before how I knew HOW to do business Then I learned of Etsy and they took care of my business. I hope you will enjoy looking around to see if any of my jewelry "speaks" to you. If you find something you just can't live without, I'll be happy to sell it to you! :-)

Here are some facts about my ETSY shop:
My jewelry is made for many types of people - from teens to young moms to the more mature. I also enjoy making jewelry to fit plus sizes.
I make all my jewelry - using components I make from sterling silver or other metals and also some various charms and components. I use many different techniques, hammering, soldering, stamping, pressed metal and patination. If you have something special in mind, let me know - We may be able to work on it together.

**********

My training - I've taken metal classes at William Holland School of Lapidary, Will Smith in Nashville, TN., Cold Connections Classes from Kim St. Jean and copper enameling class from Pam East in Atlanta, GA.

BRIDAL & WEDDINGS - I love working with brides in the planning and implementation of their jewelry ideas - and also giving them helpful suggestions to keep them within their budget. I give discounts for multiple items such as jewelry for the bridal

ALLERGIES: I have a line of ear wires that I make from argentium sterling wire which has proven to be hypo-allergenic and also resistant to tarnish. Most jewelry allergies are caused by the small amount of copper used to harden sterling. Argentium sterling uses little or no copper as a hardener and cause many fewer allergies. As a bonus, it is also resistant to tarnish.

Payment
I currently accept Paypal and I will occasionally accept a cashiers' check or a postal money order. but I don't take personal checks. The only problem with sending is is the delay involved. If you prefer a different method of payment, contact me and we can discuss it. Checkout with Paypal is super easy – even if you want to use your credit card. Etsy asks that buyers pay within 3 days – if I haven’t heard from you within 2 days, I try to send you a reminder. If the 4th day arrives and I haven’t received payment, I cancel the order. I would welcome your re-order at a later date.
If you have any problems with checkout, please email me early by clicking on the “contact” and I’ll walk you through it.

My fellow Kentuckians will be charged a 6% sales tax and this will be turned over to the KRS

Occasionally, a "one of a kind" piece might be purchased locally at a show and still showing up in a listing. If this is a piece that can not be reproduced, I will cancel the sale and refund you payment - and send you an explanation and a coupon for a discount on a future purchase. This very seldom ever happens, but it is possible.

Shipping
All domestic purchases usually have a standard shipping of $2.50 and additional items add an extra cost of $0.30 to $0.50 via USPS with delivery confirmation - in my custom gift box which will include a velour jewelry storage bag and an anti-tarnish swatch for sterling silver. The box will be enclosed in a bubble mailer for safety. If you want insurance on your order, please let me know prior to payment and I can change the listing or send you a request for payment to include it.

International shipments will be charged a flat rate of 4.00 and your jewelry will be packaged in my velour presentation bags containing a swatch of anti-tarnish cloth to help keep your silver gleaming. Your package will be further packed in a padded bubble envelope prior to shipping. Except for Canada, international shipments will not include a gift box. I have never had a problem with delivery, however, there is always that possibility. If there is a problem, I can furnish you with a receipt showing proof that your item was shipped, and that may help you in working with your local shipping authorities.

If you are purchasing several pieces - or if you piece is quite expensive, I will possibly use priority mail at no extra expense to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
Generally, I do not honor refunds or exchanges - except if there is a defect in materials or workmanship. I try to give complete descriptions as to size, color, etc., and I take several photos in an effort to give you as good an idea as possible as to how the item will look. If you find a problem with materials or workmanship, please contact me and we will arrange for a solution. Returns must be in the original packaging and shipped with delivery confirmation and following communication between us. DO NOT send a return without having had conversation with me and getting a "return number" to put on the outside of the envelope If any of the beads or components are defective, I will want to know the particulars as to the problem and I may want a photo to see if fits the return policy. My jewelry is guaranteed for the first year. However, delicate chains WILL sometimes break with extreme stress and do not fall under my repair guarantee. When possible, I will repair after a year, but there will be a nominal expense - depending on the difficulty of repair. In either case, you will need to provide shipping both ways and you need to email me to get directions for the return.

I take great pride in the fabrication of my jewelry - no one works for me - I will also provide a refund, repair or exchange on any jewelry that is not as described. I occasionally improve on designs and may fail to mention it - if you see a difference and want to know the reason, please contact me. If it's an oversight on my part, I will either repair or refund. If it's an obvious improvement, we can discuss a resolution.
Additional policies and FAQs
Many of my pieces are created AFTER you order, so please allow a week or so for fabrication. I very seldom take that long, however, it can happen. I won't leave you wondering, however. I will let you know how things are coming along.

My more expensive pieces (over $50.00) are "tagged" with my sterling silver designer name tag - a recent event proves how helpful that can be - someone found a bracelet, saw the tag, googled my name, contacted me, returned the bracelet to me and I got it back to the owner!!! How great was that!!! People are usually quite wonderful!!

Now that you know more about me and my work, settle back with your favorite snack or beverage and check every thing out. Thank you for stopping by my Etsy shop
