About

A bead, a needle, and a thread.

I tend to create very organically, I don't like to plan and I like to watch the pieces come together as I work.
I love layers, working bead over bead for height and depth and bursts of color that you won't find on your first glance.
I also like to play with my pieces so texture is a must, tiny waves of beads, smooth stones, or faceted gems. I like glass and stone, metal and fiber and I like to mix in vintage findings when they're there. Everything is one of a kind. I get bored easily which means I like to experiment, jumping from one technique to the next.

I'm currently spending my jewelry making time creating with metal and stone and you can see the results of that labor here:https://www.etsy.com/shop/LaBellaJoya

I spent three and a half years teaching and with that still in my blood, I created patterns for beaders like myself who want to create their own pieces of color and pattern and who like the process more than the product.

I live in the Southeast with my husband, new baby, and close family all within a 5 min. walk.

If you're a weaver, I'm honored that you'd like my design enough to spend your free time creating your own. I hope you'll check back often for new tutorials, beads and findings, and maybe even some limited edition kits!

An accidental artist, I discovered beadweaving while attempting to repair a store-bought beaded ring. I never fixed the ring, and instead went on to make my own. Four years later I'm still making rings...and bracelets, necklaces, pendants.

Welcome to my Destash shop! Here you will find beads and findings that were loved and wanted when they were purchased, but never quite found their permanent home in my stash! I'm passing them onto you at the price I paid or lower.

I also have a selection of tutorials that I've created for those wanting to stretch their creative muscles and make their own versions of my designs.
Here are a few of the magazines that have published my work:

Beadwork Magazine
Stringing Magazine
Beads (U.K.)
Belle Armoire Jewelry
Bead Star
101 Bracelets, Earrings, and Necklaces
