LaBelleMadeleine

I received my first sewing-kit when I was 5 years old. My Nonna Isabella made it for me.. I still have today the beautiful pin-cushion she embroidered with my initial. She is my inspiration, a great example throughout my life. Today I'm 41 and I cherish in my heart every moment I spent with her and every little thing she taught me.

I started my Etsy-Shop after she passed-away, I felt the urge to create, to embroider, to crochet, the fill the void she left.. because the world had lost someone so great: a woman who survived 2 World Wars and learned how to never complain and who touched the lives of so many people. She was always creating something for somebody, knitting, crocheting, sewing... she could do anything!

Her mother, my great-grandma Madeleine, was a French noble woman who in the 1920's opened a school for poor and orphan girls to teach them how to embroider. I think this is fascinating...

My full name is Luisa-Maddalena-Isabella... these three names combined form LaBelleMadeleine, the name and brand of my shop which is the continuation of what my great-grandma and grandma had already started during their lives. ♥
