About

Lacee Swan is a watercolor artist and illustrator with a distinct style inspired by girls who love pop art, fashion, music and especially heart shaped sunglasses.

For a gal who likes to throw parties (sometimes of the dinner variety too), can work her magic on the 1′s and 2′s, is also a fashion illustrator, plus has her own line of apparel and is a blogger too, this jack-of-all-trades really is the hipster version of lifestyle media mogul Martha Stewart. ~ StyleCaster

Swan gives us a new way to pledge our allegiance, modelizer style. ~ Refinery29

LACEE SWAN really began when I was age 7 cutting out paper dolls. When I out grew that I then taught all the the little girls I baby sat how. And then when I outgrew that I went to Fashion Design School. Obvi! I moved from North Dakota to New York City and studied Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Techonology. I was never really satisfied working the corporate job so I constantly seeked new opportunities. I worked on costume design for plays, was always painting, learned graphic design, I sewed my own dresses to go out at night, I DJ'd fashion parties and started my own parties with two of my best friends. Because I missed painting so much and being creative at my work I started a blog to get my art out there. I have always loved a lot off color and am inspired by pop culture, the 50's + 80's and lots of french pop.My watercolor illustrations tend to not stray to far from that.Because I was already working in the fashion industry I naturally wrote about it as well. It wasn't long before I started getting invites to Fashion Shows and I started illustrating styles from the runway and posting them. I was always painting and making little cards for friends. As friends were getting married and having babies I started making custom illustrations for their invitations. And then it just naturally turned into a business. I have had the opportunity for my work to be featured in many publications and collaborate with brands such as:
Nanette Lepore
Saks Fifth Avenue
Guess?
StriVectin
Annick Goutal
PromGirl.com
Ella Moss/Splendid
Sunglass Hut
Nanette Lepore
Rebecca Minkoff
Keds
Calypso St. Barth
Teen Vogue
Bloglovin
Milly
