These bracelets and cufflinks were extra special since they were made for a family member who’s mom passed away. Made from her wedding dress and with her favorite color purple, it was a nice way to have her with us on their wedding day.
No lace, no problem. This custom brooch was made from two pieces of solid materials that were sentimental to our client! (Didn’t know I made brooches? It’s because they aren’t listed, contact us for anything you want and don’t see, I love custom orders!)
The pollen count here in Atlanta today is over 5000 sneezing_face I’m making through with Allegra and peppermint oil. What are you favorite oils to combat allergies?

About

The Lace Studio takes a small piece of any material that is sentimental to you, and preserves it into jewelry that you can wear everyday!

The Lace Studio takes a small piece of any material that is sentimental to you, and preserves it into jewelry that you can wear everyday! We use a one of a kind, and original technique to encase your material in a waterproof and scratch resistant resin, creating heirloom quality jewelry. The original wedding dress resin jewelry, established in 2011!

When I was planning my own wedding I had a hard time finding gifts that were special enough for the people I cared so much for, helping me with such an important day in my life. I had asked my seamstress to save any lace she cut off of my wedding gown, because it just didn't feel right to let it go to waste, it was so beautiful!! So, with those two thoughts, and a lot of fine tuning, Green Grass Gifts was born (now called The Lace Studio). I loved seeing the looks on my loved ones faces when I gave them my own wedding dress lace necklaces, and I love hearing all of the stories from my clients now. It is great to be able to preserve such a unique and beautiful part of such a special day, and to be able to wear it as a reminder everyday is a plus!! I can use any material, it doesn't have to be lace, and it doesn't have to be from your wedding day, there are all types of material that hold special meanings to us! I would love to create something special for you, please contact me with any questions!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your turnaround time?

My turnaround time is 14 business days from the day that I receive your material.

What type of material can be used in a pendant?

Wedding dress lace, satin, and tulle can all be preserved in our jewelry. Also, material from baby blankets, military uniforms, old shirts or ties, graduation tassels, we've even made jewelry from a dog's favorite stuffed toy!

How do custom and personalized orders work?

You simply order the pieces you would like, and then mail me your material. When I receive your material I will email you notifying you, and will give you your due out date. After your order is complete, I will mail it out along with any leftover material or lace.

I don't want to ruin my wedding dress by cutting it, how can I still have a necklace made?

If you are having your dress altered at all, I suggest asking your seamstress or tailor to save anything they cut off. (This was how I started this business! After asking my own seamstress to save my lace before know what I would do with it.) If it's after the wedding, or if you don't need alterations (lucky you!) you can usually cut from the underside of your dress. Most of the time under your dress you will find a wide inseam that can be cut from without making any noticeable changes to the outside of the dress.

What are the pendants made out of?

I have come up with a special technique, to preserve the lace or material in a waterproof resin. We also only use sterling silver or 14K gold (except for the leather wrap bracelet), these two things combined make for heirloom quality jewelry. There are now ways to do this using clear bubble stickers over your lace, but I do not believe in treating material that is so sentimental in a way that isn't lasting.

Since you use resin, is there anything I should expect?

Yes, since it is a liquid resin that hardens clear, you should expect your material to look as it does when wet. This is usually slightly darker, and with thinner material, slightly transparent. I have tried to show examples of many different types of lace in my shop to show the different outcomes, but if you have any specific questions please let me know. You can also find more examples on my facebook or instagram account. FB @thelacestudio IG @the_lace_studio

I need my order sooner than your 14 business day turnaround time, can you rush it?

Please message me before you order with the date you need them by, and I will try my best to accommodate you.

I'm not sending in wedding lace, but another type of material that is sentimental to me. How do I order?

All of the jewelry can be made with any material, even if the example photos are of lace. If you are sending in a solid piece of material (not lace or tulle) then you do not have to have a background color, since there are no "holes" for the background to show through. You can choose custom color at checkout. If you still want to add color to your pendant I will fill the pendant up 1/2 to 3/4ths the way with your solid material, and then the rest let a background color peek through.

How do I care for my jewelry?

I suggest polishing your jewelry with a polishing cloth designed for either sterling silver or gold. These can be found at most big box stores, jewelry stores, or hobby stores. I DO NOT suggest any liquid solutions as they can damage the resin. The resin part of your jewelry should only be wiped off with a little water and a soft cloth, like you would clean your sunglasses with. And, as with any jewelry, care should be taken when swimming, bathing, or showering, taking it off beforehand will ensure a longer life for your piece.
