the "Ply Away Home" collection for fall 2010
supports other Etsy-based indie fiber artists.

each of these artists' hand-crafted supplies,
gathered from their homes and their dye pots:
helped make the collection about community.

whenever you see "featured fiber artist" in the listings
that means many hands helped shape, helped create.
home is just as much about the neighborhood as your unit.
please follow the links to see their lovely shops too.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
shopping for wearables online is not easy.
you can't pick it up or feel the texture of the fiber.
so you can absolutely return it!

just please contact me if you have concerns at all and we will work it out.

if a return is in order, please just inform me of your intent, affix proper postage & insurance and mail the item back (in its original unworn/unused condition) within 7 business days for a speedy refund. however, postage will not be refunded. sorry!

PayPal is preferred. you do not need an account; PayPal accepts all major credit cards.

New York City (Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan & Staten Island) residents will be charged 8.875% sales tax. this tax will be added automatically through PayPal.

please submit payment within 3 business days, unless you have contacted me for a special arrangement. otherwise the sale will be counted as incomplete, and the item will be relisted.

e-check payments through PayPal will ship as soon as payment clears. thank you for understanding.

if you require another form of payment, please contact me via conversations on etsy or email me at laigrai [!at]

Additional policies and FAQs

"i'm allergic to alpaca, can your shop accommodate me?"
of course! if you have any allergies at all, please just let me know and we will work together to keep any of that fiber very far away from your knitted garment.

if you are also "allergic" to a certain colorway (say, orange and navy together) i can make sure those two colors stay apart too! ;)

"i have a wedding coming up, can you make me a custom shawl to match my shoes?"
absolutely! i love to work with my customers to make them special heirloom pieces that they will treasure!

& if you are more of the DIY type- i can also spin the yarn for you to knit your own shawl/sweater/project! just ask!

"i can't tell if what i see on the screen will be snuggly and soft? will it be the same color on my monitor?"

colors on monitors do vary- so keep that in mind when viewing the photos. i do my very best to color correct & achieve proper hues & values- but when in doubt, please just ask me! i promise i am very friendly!

softness- oh, you will never have to worry about that! items being of the softest, most snuggle-able quality, are absolutely my top priority! believe me, i am the one spinning the yarn and feeling the fibers run through my fingers long before i crochet them into wearable art. it is a time consuming process and i wouldn't want to handle those fibers if they were itchy or uncomfortable! only the most luxurious fibers from around the world are used in my pieces- and i work hard to make sure rare and fine fibers are featured throughout the shop! if you have a favorite fiber type that you would prefer i use, just ask! i would be glad to accommodate! :)

yes, i accept custom orders! please just send me an email at laigrai[at] or conversation through etsy!
