This piece was absolutely beautiful and is a HUGE hit with my teething toddler. I can't say enough good things about it- I have been complimented so many times for how well-crafted and unique it is, and there has been absolutely no warping or damage after lots and lots of use by my little guy. Thank you for making something so safe and lovely!

Excellent communication, a product that exceeds expectations, and a wonderful crafter to boot. I couldn't be happier with my purchasing experience or the final product. Thank you so so so much!!!

About

sculpting with wool

i guess you could say that i became a "fibre purist" once i had kids & got concerned about what they were wearing against their sensitive little bodies. so many of their hand-me-down hats were polyester fleece and even on the coldest days i'd remove their toques to find their heads sweaty & static-y. so i went on a mission to create a functional, natural, light-weight hat that covered their necks, stayed on (!), & looked cute. wool is a super fibre! merino wool in particular has amazing qualities that i wanted to harness in my ideal hat.

a friend had showed me how to wet-felt wool fibres a few years back & i fell in love with the process and wondered if i could create something 3-dimensional using the same technique. my experiment resulted in a misshapen cone-like shape & felt like a first-attempt fail :) but i poked at it, stuck it over a ball, felted it some more, put in some folds & a curl... there is absolutely nothing like the process of adaptation & it brought me to a place i would not have otherwise discovered. the felt elf hood was born! i added a few embellishments & velcro for the chin strap & voila, my little one wore it with no fuss, sweat or static! i thought that was the end, but then people started to comment & request - some strangers even gave me their card & asked to sell them in their store... i was delighted because the hat was such a happy mistake : )

Refunds and Exchanges
i do my utmost to create a product that you love - that includes making sure that the creation is to your size preference, colour preference, style preference and of high quality and meticulous crafting... to do this effectively, i encourage open conversations between myself and the buyer and provide photos through out the process so you have a chance to tweek the direction. custom orders are so fun for me and will be for you too! once the item is shipped, you will already know what your piece looks like. however, if mistakes are made on my behalf i will certainly stand by my product and do everything i can to assist - while i cannot refund on custom orders, i will remake if necessary.
Additional policies and FAQs
generally a custom creation takes between 8-9 weeks for me to create; however, if you would like it faster i can rush the order for a fee - please convo me for an estimate.
