We're Lally Broch Farm, a "no-kill" homestead from lovely midcoast Maine. The jewelry we create on our farm is hand-crafted out of the eggshells from our own chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, and turkeys. Our ladies lay free range eggs when they are young. We sell these to neighbors to enjoy. The egg shells from what our family eats are used to create beautiful jewelry. When our hens are no longer laying eggs, they retire to live out their natural lives on the farm.
Happy Hens Make Lovely Jewelry.

5 out of 5 starsI love the sleepy time balm. My hands always get dry in the winter months as I work in healthcare, I try to put an oil based moisturizer at bedtime but always have found them to be heavy and super greasy. I massage this balm in my hands and feet at bedtime and find it is light but does the job. It smells amazing! Even my husband (who typically does not like lavender) has commented on how good it smells! I bought extras for Christmas gifts and I can’t wait to give them out! Will purchase again!

5 out of 5 starsSuch a lovely experience purchasing from Sonja. I made a mistake on my address in the order and she fixed it without hesitation and was so kind in sending me a small gift along with what I ordered as a gift to a friend! Thank you Sonja!

Lally Broch Farm: A Maine Family Homestead
In some ways, our story is probably like many of yours; a young family, working two full-time jobs in this uncertain economy, trying to make ends meet. What started with us thinking it might be fun to try to grow some of our own fruits and vegetables on our small 4 acre +/- slice of land has become a journey into really providing for ourselves. It’s changed how we view the food we eat, what it is made of, where it came from, and how it was handled. It opened our eyes to terms like “GMOs” and “battery hens”. It led to our first getting mad, and then, determined. These changes have not happened overnight. This journey we’re on is still in progress. But, “when you know better, you do better”. We want to do better.

I have always loved creating beautiful things from parts and pieces. To be able to realize the dream of doing that at home with my family using eggs from our flock of hens, milk from our goats, or sea-glass from my favorite beach means so much to me.

What does a Mom, whose only ambition in life was to be a Mom, do once her children are grown? Learn to grow and expand her talents! Sewing has become an outlet for me; a peaceful place where I can let my imagination loose to combine texture & color.
