The Lambcake Story

The name Lambcake was born when I was very small. My mum and I were shopping and I decided that the word 'pincushion' was a rather boring name for such a useful object and decided to rename the it a 'Lambcake'.

’Lambcake’ started as a shop of knitted items, but after a while I discovered that writing my own patterns was far more enjoyable than making the items myself and then stopping. The idea of other people enjoying creating my designs themselves makes me so happy.

My love of digital and ‘hands on’ design comes together with Lambcake, as it allows me to unite both and lets my ideas to really come alive. After studying Graphic Design and it being a major part of my day job, it’s enjoyable to be able to combine my modern digital work with something as ancient and organic as needlecraft. Also, as well as making patterns, I also design and create bespoke graphic design solutions and design elements.

The ethos behind Lambcake is simple; to create easy to follow, no-fuss patterns that can easily be adjusted and customized yourself with minimal hassle. Lambcake Patterns is my idea of what patterns should look like. I’m not a fan of fussy, loud, overly complicated and intricate designs that need a lot of experience to interpret. Knitting and crochet should be about simplicity and fun.

Now I’m older, I still have that passion and the satisfaction of making something from scratch with your own hands gives me enormous joy. Knitting and crochet have helped me in many ways as a person, from allowing me to relax and cope better with stress and to really appreciating peacefulness. I still find it exciting to know that just a small amount of yarn and a hook or needle can bring such happiness in such a simple way.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payments can be made by credit or debit card via PayPal, or directly via your PayPal account. You can also use your Etsy Gift card here as well.

Remember that you don't need to have a Paypal account to pay using a credit card! Here are some useful steps on how to do so;

1.) Instead of choosing to pay with your PayPal account, select the option to pay with a debit or credit card.

2.) You'll then be prompted to fill in your billing and credit card information.

3.) You'll need to enter your email address so PayPal can send you a receipt.

4.) Click Continue to return to Etsy Checkout to review and submit your final order.

Your payment isn't sent until you click Submit order on Etsy.

Payment is required straight away, and once it has been received you can download your pattern immediately.

All custom graphics and design packs are listed as a physical item, as the instant digital download function is not appropriate for items that are edited especially to your specifications. As such, you will purchase your desired design, I will receive your information and get in touch within the same day to discuss your requirements, and quickly get to work on your unique design.

When your design has been completed (and after any touch-ups/edits have been done) your graphics will be emailed to you. Don't worry; even though your digital item is listed as physical, no P&P is charged!
As no physical item is sent, there is not delivery policy. Simply make sure that your email address is correct and you regularly check it (and your Etsy convos) during the design process so I can finish your chosen design as quickly as possible.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unhappy with your digital item, my utmost concern is to work together to find a solution before the refund process is started.

Each digital item (excluding patterns) comes with three revisions/edits in which you can state anything you need changing/correcting. This is the time for you to express doubts you have, and for me to make any changes for you.

After this point, if you are still in need of changes, extra revisions are charged at €1.50 a time, to be charged separately. Extra changes are of course, unlimited.

I will issue an immediate refund in the very unlikely case of if the pattern you downloaded is not the one you bought (i.e. a different file).

Unfortunately, I cannot issue a refund if you don't understand the pattern, (i.e. the types of techniques involved), or if you decias all skills you require are clearly stated in the item's description. All my patterns are created in the highest quality file formats to be legible and free from any kind of blurring or warping so all instructions will be perfectly readable.
